I haven’t seen any Bond movies completely, but my brother is a fan so what I know I know from him, and he really likes Sean Connery so I’d have to go with that as my answer.
I do, however, know more about the themes, and while I do adore “Live And Let Die ,” I’d have to go with “Goldfinger” as my fave (I can play it on trumpet lol), with the one that Nancy Sinatra did coming in at third

Yeah, Nancy and the Shirley Bassey tracks are all enjoyable. Really, among those 20-odd themes, there’s a lot of quality. (And a few godawful things.) Some great singers with limp soft-pop or otherwise dated backing. Lulu with sem-funky beats and acid-wah guitar!
I think I gotta go with…Tina Turner and “Goldeneye”!
(Beatley moment dept: Inspired by asjr’s query, I screened “Goldfinger” last night. And I was prepared for the infamous Beatles/earplugs line, but NOT for seeing Mr.Derby hat “I ride this train regularly: twice a week” guy in a supporting role! Flmwise, I loved moments but found the whole underwhelming; probably try “Thunderball” next)

Anyway, the only correct answer to the theme is Carly Simon’s ‘Nobody Does It Better’. Any other answer is, I’m afraid, incorrect.
Way to go when in doubt, ASJ; suggesting there’s an obvious contender that’s the only logical answer. You make a strong argument with the only problem being you have got the wrong theme. And sorry Paul, you were in the running, but…
As to my favourite Bond? I have the complete Bond DVD box set, and the films released since that came out, and being familiar with all eras makes the choice hard.
I’d probably go for Barry Nelson or David Niven, though Bob Holness would be up there if they could just find the tape…
RN, purely by bringing up “We Have All The Time In The World” you have made me BOND SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO WATCH BUT SLOW ON THE UPTAKE
mourn Mrs Bond again- James didn’t deserve that and obviously neither did Tracy 🙁 It’s so sad and unexpected, a great ending for any film but especially a Bond film.
VonBon, I applaud you on your diving into the Bond world:
Do you eckspeckt me to tahlk?
NO MR BOND, I EXPECT YOU TO DIE!!!
You Only Live Twice, The Spy Who Loved Me (really anything with Jaws I love), Tomorrow Never Dies (I have a big soft spot for Brosnan as his films were always on at Christmas Eve when I was a wain) are all good Bond shouts- 3 different Bonds as well so you won’t get bored of the actor at the very least.

The best Bond is Matt Bellamy
and the best Bond theme is ‘Supremacy’
I’m being very facetious, obviously, because I have never watched any actual Bond films. I just don’t watch movies that much, period.

I just don’t want to catch it then take it home to my elderly mother-in-law. That’s my biggest concern.
My other concern is how the spread is impacting the stock markets and, thus, my retirement fund. I know it will eventually bounce back up, but I hate seeing $5k disappear in 2 days.

Yeah, it’s ridiculous. I was tracking the German stock market for college and…ouch.
We haven’t had any official cases yet but I imagine we’ll get a case in the next week or two. I’m just hoping if the place implodes that my fun ‘ASJ’s last summer of freedom’ isn’t impeded. I should be in Germany, Manchester, Liverpool and London this summer and I will be very pissed off if the events get cancelled or if the place gets quarantined.

What? Why? What happened? Why should I be concerned? What is going on? What?
If you’re referring to the States Of Emergency that some counties are calling I read an article that said they were just to make preparation easier and more effective. But I’m not sure exactly what you are referring to.

Fiddy, you do have Google, right?
The patient lives in Solano County and is being treated in Sacramento, as far as I can tell.

This. I’m not going to let it dictate how I live my life.
Besides, i caught the last massive global pandemic – what’s the chance I get 2 from 2?

No, it’s going to make no difference whatsoever in regards to catching it so why spend days and hours getting stressed out over it and bulk buying 302 packs of toilet roll and 81 loaves of bread.

The fear factor has come from the fact that this is a new virus which seems pretty infectious, and for which there is no vaccine yet. However, there is an element of overreaction as well. Most infected seem to have a mild illness, the death rate appears to be around 2%, with the elderly and those with preexisting health conditions most at risk.
The 1919 Spanish Flu pandemic killed more than died in WWI, this is nothing like that. The UK had around 600 deaths from flu last year among the same at risk groups. In many ways, this is looking like a similar possible death rate as the annual flu. It’s the fear of the unknown that’s driving the reaction at the moment.

Getting more and more concerned. People here are starting to freak-out a bit. My daughter and friends had lunch at the most popular restaurant in Chinatown (SF) this weekend and the place was almost empty. On Grant St. (the street with all the Chinese flags and signs) they were doing Abbey Road photoshoots on the road, as it was deserted. My wife travels overseas at least once per month for her business, so that is obviously of great concern.
For a little Cali distraction, we’ve had 3 days of 75d weather which has made the mustard plants flower like crazy.

Right lads, this is a serious question and I may break up any relationship that I have with you depending on your answer. Bond is taken very seriously in my household. Therefore:
Favourite Bond?
AND
Favourite theme?
I have an odd relationship with all things 007. My mom used to take us to the drive-in quite a bit when I was a kid. For some reason she took us to see all the James Bond movies which in retrospect were not really age appropriate (I was 9 when Dr. No came out). I suppose because of the adult themes that I didn’t understand, I have always had an obsessive fascination with the actor that is currently playing 007. For instance, Daniel Craig accompanied his wife Rachel Weisz to a few award shows when she was nominated for The Favourite. I could not concentrate on the show because I kept anticipating them appearing on camera again. Anyway, that being said I’m team Goldfinger all the way!!
