Do you have any standards/rules for posting/not posting in certain threads?
Yes. For example, I try to only post in the Philosophy thread when I really strongly feel about that certain topic, otherwise I could just end up in an argument for no reason.
For instance, here are a couple of mine:
I don’t wish people a happy birthday in the birthday thread unless I have some vague idea of who they are. I don’t automatically wish people a happy birthday just because their name is at the bottom of the page. I don’t want to sound insincere.
It is still a nice gesture to wish someone a happy Birthday though, which is why I do that.
I don’t post in the Things We Learned Today thread unless I think that the fact that I post will interest someone besides me.
Couldn’t agree more. That thread is entertaining*, that’s for sure!
*when used correctly

I don’t use the birthday thread for people who don’t have accounts. Like a Beatle or some random celebrity.
I stopped posting in games that have no direction or point. Like the games where the only post that matters is the one above you Like easy trivia or lyric last letter game.
Also for dreams, I only post dreams about users in the dream thread since it is more relevant and interesting to others.
Also I don’t go into the hearing thread or it’s clone threads.

I’ll comment in most threads if they seem interesting. But there’s no thread I particularly enjoy posting in the most.
I wish I posted more in the Beatles threads, but I don’t really give a damn whether a stupid guitar pluck in Michelle was played by John, George, Paul, or Ringo. And most of the general questions I would ask about a song I can just Google, find on the main site, or browse old threads.
I don’t try and post all the time, it disconcerts me watching people post like 15 or more times a day. But that’s just me. I’ll post maybe 5 at most a day, sometimes none.
(I agree on the Birthday wishing though, if someone isn’t active here (or never was) then they can forget it.)

New question:
Is there are particular thread that makes you happier than the others?

I like when others make stories in the Beatles Bible Story thread. Fun thread to reread.
The Text Adventure is nice. I’m thinking of making a sequel game to it.

I suppose this thread, sometimes the In My Life thread (not now, though), Things We Learned Today, and a few others do.
On the contrary, the philosophy thread, the headphones/hearing thread, and current events are some threads I either sometimes avoid or avoid entirely because they make me feel the opposite.
Also, I’d like to say, the Exis Appreciation thread is making me happy right now because people are posting some nice appreciative stuff. Thanks much.

Although there really aren’t any threads that make me extra happy, I will say that the threads related to Beatles solo material really loses my interest, as I don’t really listen to their solo material, especially Ringo with his awful singing voice that is on every track of his solo albums.

In contrast to that, whenever a thread in the Beatles Songs section becomes active again, I always look forward to it.

(Oopps didn’t mean to thank the post. I meant quote it.)
You should definitely dive into the world of solo material. It is quite good! You should also give Ringo a chance, he has some pretty underrated stuff.

I’m always happy when the Fiendish Thingies or any of the appreciation threads come up, or the George Harrison solo threads. And Pink Floyd, of course.
(So predictable )
I also like Things We Learned Today.

I enjoy the Beatles Trivia – Even Easier! thread. There are so many clever posts there that make me laugh. I truly enjoy the company of clever, witty people. By contrast, I could live the rest of my life quite happily by never seeing another “Rank the songs on…” threads. People seem to like them and that’s cool. In the early days of the Forum, I may have listed a ranking or two. But the human race has yet to invent an instrument that can measure my indifference to anyone’s favorite or least favorite song on any album. Mostly because you are all wrong!

What do you enjoy more: listening to an album or a song for the first time or for the second/third/… time? (hope this has not been asked before)
Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's
