Already two different answers, it’s so interesting how the human brain works in connection with music.

Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

No. I do pronounce certain names wrong though, for example, ‘ahhh’ in Ahhh Girl’s name is a lingering ‘a’ like in bat. ewe2’s is ‘ew’ 2. And natureaker’s is ‘nature’ ‘reaker’.
Yeah, I never sing names, like ever.

I just say them in my head as if they were normal names. However, I pronounce some of them differently as well, such as Ahhh Girl being sometimes with an ‘ahh’ like in bat or sometimes with one like in ‘awning’ (not sure why that is), and natureaker being ‘nature-acher’ (like in ‘ache’). a-hard-days-night-paul-10

When you read usernames which are directly taken from song lyrics such as @Ahhh Girl or @Beatlebug does the voice in your head pronounce them normally or do you automatically hear John’s / Paul’s voice in your head singing the name as it sounds in the song?

For me, it’s definitely the latter and it’s quite funny each time.ahdn_george_08

Actually, I have it the other way round — when I hear the song, it sounds to me like the Beatles are name-checking the users. a-hard-days-night-paul-10

For me, the voice I hear reading the message depends on what the avatar looks like and also what I know about the person. For example, when I read Little Piggy Dragonguy’s posts I imagine a girly girl with a rather high pitched voice, when I read Ron Nasty’s posts, I imagine a slightly pissed off Ringo Starr , when I read meanmistermustard’s posts, I imagine John Lennon , when I read Starr Shine?’s posts, I imagine someone very neutral due to her vagueness when it comes to her outside life, when I read William Shears Campbell’s post, I imagine someone somewhat sophisticated, when I read Joe’s posts, I forget about imagining because Joe’s posts are typically either important and worth reading, the list goes on.

I never sing any of the names, they sound like normal talking in my head, but some more odd names I’ll say completely wrong in my head when I glance at them. Like for example, I pronounce @natureaker’s name as “nutcracker” in my head. I also used to pronounce @WeepingAtlasCedars’s name as like Weeping Angels Cedars. I’m sure there’s a few more, but those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

I pronounce @Ahhh Girl’s name as Ahhh(as in AWesome) Girl. I also pronounce @ewe2’s name as ewey two.

Anyone know how to find what it is missing in your life when you don’t know what it is? That’s where I have been for a good while. Everything is pretty decent yet there is no getting away from something definitely lacking.

Maybe I just need a damn good whacking.

I felt that way today… I think I was lacking a good night’s sleep.

Any songs that make you hungry? Savoy Truffle and Alan’s Psychedelic Breakfast always make me want to go for a cupboard rummage.

I’m not too sure; I’ve been wondering that myself a little bit. I’ve got an idea, but then again I couldn’t be too sure.

Do you have any standards/rules for posting/not posting in certain threads?

For instance, here are a couple of mine:

I don’t wish people a happy birthday in the birthday thread unless I have some vague idea of who they are. I don’t automatically wish people a happy birthday just because their name is at the bottom of the page. I don’t want to sound insincere.

I don’t post in the Things We Learned Today thread unless I think that the fact that I post will interest someone besides me.

The following people thank Necko for this post:

Beatlebug, WeepingAtlasCedars

I'm Necko.  I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.

I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.
