Walked in, went to a stall, did what I had to do, came out of the stall to go to a sink, and got some very surprised stares from the men in there. Yeah, had to pee so badly I didn’t even realize it was the men’s restroom when I walked to the stall. There wasn’t anyone in there when I first walked in.

BOT: Did you ever have a “secret spot” as a kid? A ‘There’s A Place’ type spot where you could go, when you felt low? Mine was a giant boulder next to a mountain stream. In Spring, the winter snow melt made the stream roar like constant thunder. Instead of “the silence is deafening”, it was “the noise is peaceful”. Where was your secret spot?

Offline I had some kind of tent made with canvas, and a chair in there, where I used to go to read; the “tent” was in my garden. I spent many afternoons there, reading everything, from Robinson Crusoe and Moby Dick to Greek mythology. I must have been nine or ten.

Offline Where i lived between the ages of 3 and 8 there was a place in my back yard sort of behind the bushes and underneath a tree, where there was a little clearing just big enough to sit down, surrounded by leaves on all sides. I used to crawl in there, sit down and just chill out.

I have no particular brand, I just buy whatever’s on sale. I’ve been led to believe that men are less particular than women regarding the quality of the stuff they’re wiping themselves with!
I don’t think I’ve ever walked into the wrong restroom. Not even in my twenties, when I had many more opportunities because of being drunk in pubs much more frequently than in the past two decades. (So I have one less way of verifying whether the women’s rooms have higher quality toilet paper!)
And YES, when I was between the ages of 6 and 8, I lived in a building near a craggy, wooded/fielded where I would go and “climb mountains”. Not only when I was feeling low, but just when I was bored or hadn’t been there for awhile. I could see for several miles in all directions, not that there was much to see in that mining town. (Sudbury, Ontario – birthplace of Alex Trebek!)
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.
