For everyone, why did you choose the location that you did on your profile? And if you didn’t choose a location, why?

I saw that nobody had picked mine yet, so I chose it. I also think that Cry Baby Cry is a pretty good song, so there you have it.

Well it’s not an easy thing to use a laptop standing up and as much as I love this forum, I cannot say my continuous presence on it could be called “productive” in the real world >.>

I went through several… I wanted one that was clever, hadn’t been used before, and was not an actual location. I had ‘Here, There, and Nowhere Land’ for a while. My current one is from ‘Ballad Of Sir Frankie Crisp’, which is one of my favourite songs ever; I loved the song, liked the poetic-sounding-ness of the line, and thought that ‘where ye echo lays’ was suitably enigmatic.
@WeepingAtlasCedars which band did you fall in love with first: the Beatles or Led Zeppelin?

I dunno, I wanted something that would make some sense as to where I really am. So, “The Void” sounded adequate enough. I might change it eventually, though.

<———- These people. Before I really discovered The Fabs, I wasn’t into music at all, as I hadn’t yet found anything that actually interested me enough to listen to it more than the few times it was played on the radio. In fact, I kind of hated the stuff.
Oh, and if you’d mind my piqued curiosity: What, @Beatlebug , caused you to suddenly decide to ask such a question?

I think it was because I was contemplating on how as much as I love the Floyd, the Fabs will always hold a special place in my heart as my ‘first’ band. And then I suddenly wondered about your case, since you do love the Zepp quite a lot (sorry if I’m breaking some kind of Led Zeppelin-fandom-sacrament by referring to them in a Floydish fashion).
As for your location, I think ‘Gelzelha’ would rock.

I’ve been obsessed with many bands/artists and I’ve found the Beatles are far and away the easiest to lose yourself to.
The music is so good, and theres so much culture and info out there its hard to resist. Plus they connect so well to other acts in ways you’d never realize, so you can take The Beatles with you on your music journey. (If that makes sense).

I get that totally, @sir walter raleigh.
My first Beatles album was Rock ‘N’ Roll Music Volume 1. All these cover versions, I wanted to hear the originals, leading me back to explore the music that influenced them. And I wanted to listen to their peers to see how they stood against the competition. And I wanted to listen to what came in their wake to see how their music echoed down through the years.
The Beatles gave me the whole of music to explore because there is no way to understand them properly without plunging in with both feet.

I see. Yep, the Fabs still hold a special place in heart as my ‘first’ band, too! And, nope, you aren’t breaking any Led Zeppelin-fandom-sacraments.

That’s a great one, SG! I’ll put that one on the list of possible changes.

Here’s a thread you might like to explore, @William Shears Campbell.
I chose my location because I got swept away to sea with Paul when I first heard the song.*
*well, in my mind only, not IRL

I Will . My dad would sing it to me at night when I was a wee lad.

Oh my gosh, what a funny little world it is! I was just going to post almost those exactlysame words (except it’s ‘wee lass’ in my case).
