I would free the pigs and then we would have a big spaghetti party (right before I banned the making and selling of the spaghetti noodle)

Make it an offense punishable by hanging to plan and/or work on road construction or repairs during peak rush hours.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

Jimmy Page

paul-mccartney-facepalm_gif

Probably delete/enforce laws/enforce better laws against all of the things I hate. paul-mccartney-thumb_gif And then use Pokemagic to make Pokemon real. a-hard-days-night-george-9

Or something like that. ahdn_george_08

Anyways, I have a question for you all! Do any of you folks have a favourite/least favourite thread on the forum?

My favourite thread (to read) is “Bass: Paul v. George”

My least favourite is probably all of the “Ranking the Songs on  _______”

Don’t like the listening thread cause it’s a status update thread and people can just post what ever song floats around without bothering with the post before. It also is one of the more lagging threads due to people posting lots of videos and pictures (though it is better than it used to be)

Also simaler threads like the song link game and the What are You doing right now threads were locked or merged and deleted haphazardly respectively. Joe has said he doesn’t like threads like that but leaves that thread up and running more interactive  threads were taken down. At least the song link has an element of challenge and responding and the What are you doing thread was a catch all for all of the things you were doing at that momen (to see the remains, take a look at the startof the in my life thread)

I have more threads that are good and bad that I’ll post later bit that is the biggest one.

My favorite thread is either QUESTION!?! YES! or the What if you were invited to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory? thread

My least favorite threads are most of the games (Baker’s Dozen, Uber Easy Trivia, Song Lyric Thread, etc.)

I don’t have a single favorite, but I really like the Things We Learned Today thread. I also like the Pet Peeves thread because I like to gripe and agree with the griping of others. Though I don’t know about liking all the posts in it, I love the concept of the Incredibly Impossible thread.

I’ve said this before elsewhere, but I don’t like the Is All Modern Music Terrible? thread, because every single post in it says essentially the same thing.

Ya some of the games are definitely over played.

The trivia thread is more like a light version of the Beatles Group Write and the Never ending Story threads which I think are better.

A. When I agree with something someone says. When someone says something funny. Sometimes when someone quotes me and adds something better or more interesting. When there’s a HongKongLady/trcanberra post.

B. End of year poll results, I imagine that Ron Nasty’s “I am now cancer free” post will break some kind of record.

I thank posts if it answers a question I had asked or if someone says something interesting/funny/satirical. (I tend not to thank people too often though).

Posts by older (well-known) members who haven’t been on in umpteen years get quite a few thanks.

The record could be broken if every member decided to thank one post until it wins out the previous record.

Appreciation and encouragement. This makes @Beatlebug the most encouraging sentient being on the planet of course, but we all do our bit. Sometimes its just to say “hey someone read your post, it wasn’t lost in the internet bits”, and that can be important.

Why are people so interested in crime? Every other news story is some crime or another.

Maybe because they feel empathy for the victim. People can get emotionally attached to people in trouble, and so they try to convey the emotion they’re feeling by watching/commenting on news stories like that.

On one hand, people want to know if there are crimes being committed in their area. This makes them a bit more diligent in trying to protect themselves and their homes.

On the other hand, there are ghouls who somehow get off on bad news and/or the misery of others. News stations thrive on these types of people for ratings.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I end up thanking stuff I agree with, if someone is trying to help me out, and just generally good content

It’s a subtle pull on our fight or flight reflex, we’re wired to react more to danger. Almost a bit like the herd sensing hunters. Therefore bad news sells. It gets weird sometimes, like the fascination for serial killers some women have.

Do you collect vinyl? If so, which record(s) is/are at the very top of your wish list/what kinds of vinyl do you really like to buy?

Not surprisingly, one of the records I’m keeping my eyes out for is a butcher cover Yesterday and Today.

I’m also quite a sucker for coloured vinyl (as proved by my lovely marbled Sgt. Pepper , who as you all know is named Billy). ahdn_george_08
