Both of those songs have very nice vocals and melodies, and Stairway has a killer guitar solo – so I can see why they are both popular. It’s the only Led Zep track that my ex-wife liked.
By the time it gets to that solo, I lose patience, so I don’t think I’ve ever actually heard it

I’ve never been able to listen to the song all the way through, the guitar solo must be good to make up for the rest of the song’s boringness

Why do people measure themselves in centimeters as apposed to decimeters?

It’s just that it’s SOOO overplayed. And also kind of a Communist anthem. But mostly I’m sick of hearing it.
And people seem to think it’s the only song John ever wrote, or (worse) a Beatles song. Because solo Lennon is synonymous with the Beatles, of course.

The one I can think that everyone likes and I hate is We Will Rock You by Queen, I mean, it’s kinda cool, but it’s so overplayed. And Imagine too, the message is nice but again, it’s so overplayed sometimes I can’t tolerate it.

Besides the fact that decimetres aren’t commonly used, there’s isn’t any particular reason. Although I think 45cm is way more intuitive than 4.5dm.
Decimetres, decametres and hectometres aren’t really used in general, for measuring people you’re always probably see it in metres and centimetres which are the most common, and kilometres and milimetres are also very common but no one measures themselves in kilometres .

Agree on both of those. Same goes for a number of songs like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’; they were good songs but I could never hear any of them again in my life and not care in the slightest.

Because the resolution is smaller which makes it simpler to measure things without having to use decimals. (And millimeters are typically too small to answer your next question).

Why do people measure themselves in centimeters…
Because most would fail miserably if they measured themselves in terms of character, compassion, tolerance and other redeeming qualities.

Was John Communist? Socialist has a less negative connotation, unless he was an outright Commie.
I love the song, even if people seem to think it’s bad because he intended to make it atheist or socialist. A song is like poetry and can resonate differently with everyone. 🙂 Yay for interpretation!
