Biggest fear(s)?

-Any insect that can fly and decides to fly right at me (daddy long-legs, I’m looking at you, you *beep*)

I didn’t know that daddy long-legs could fly and were insects.

The only animal I feared were fish but I got over that. I’m fine with spiders and insects.

Biggest fear(s)?

I don’t like edges. It’s not the height, it’s being close to the depth, not the death but the moment, not the doing but about to do, not the middle but the start and stop. Basically, I have to not think so much a-hard-days-night-paul-10

What was your (not someone else buying it for you) first Beatles purchase, and why that specific item (if there was a reason for it)?

Mine was the ‘Blue Album ‘ on a single long-play cassette (note that ‘Revolution ‘ and ‘Back In The U.S.S.R. were switched). No idea why I chose it, probably because it had 28 tracks.

1973BlueAlbum_inlay.JPGImage Enlarger

However the number of track theory breaks down as ‘Help ‘ was the next in line (and after this it was the single cassette ‘Red Album ‘ so I knew it was out there) again with switched tracks but this time even more so. ‘Help ‘ still seems weird not opening with ‘I Need You ‘. a-hard-days-night-ringo-7

This is probably where my obsession of Beatles albums with alternate track line-ups came from, tho its since reduced.

This would have been after the cassettes were re-released in 1987 with the proper running orders so no idea why HMV were still stocking these years later.

  *snip-a-roo*

I think the first Beatley thing I bought was the Revolver CD in HMV for the rip-off price of €17 about 3 years ago. I got it because I looked at the back of all of the other CDs and Revolver had the least amount of songs that I recognised so I decided to get that one first.

I remember going back to my place in Galway and just playing it over and over again, t’is a fine record so it is.

I’m pretty sure mine was the Blue Album on cassette as well, because the family copy had practically melted from a decade of summers in the car. I think my second was Past Masters , or it could have been that weird Australian compilation Essential Beatles. I think my first CD purchase was Abbey Road , followed by Sgt Peppers and Revolver .

Mine was Sgt Peppers. Technically I didn’t buy it, I just rented it for about a month, but I used my own money. I got it because I was really getting into that specific album

I just looked back through my Amazon orders for 2013. The first Beatley thing I ordered was Kisses On The Bottom . Then the next day I ordered the 3 anthology sets. Over the following two weeks I bought most of Paul’s solo albums and The Beatles (The Original Studio Recordings) Box set, Original recording remastered. I remember buying the box set after checking out the only Beatles cds my library owned and deciding I didn’t want to collect the cds piecemeal…and I didn’t want to copy the cds illegally.

It was so long ago, I have no clue anymore.

I'm Necko.  I'm like Ringo except I wear necklaces.

I'm also ewe2 on weekends.

Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

Nice box. My ex stole mine to decorate the first house we were selling and I haven’t seen it since 🙁

“What was your (not someone else buying it for you) first Beatles purchase, and why that specific item (if there was a reason for it)?”

Let It Be – the album. My first ever LP. I had been a fan for ages but we never had a record player until it was released – my dad was a big ‘reel-to’reel’ fanatic. So when we bought the player I bought the LP. And then they broke up – I was devastated. I then began buying their complete albums and the new solo albums as they were released.

The big ones don’t need as much venom as the little ones.

It’s the size and hairiness which scares me – not the venom or lack of.

Maybe because I don’t have a lot of hair; but then again hkl does and she doesn’t scare me – much 😉
