Atrocious isn’t the right word. It should be a fine read for you. The problem is in the boring, unimportant details that he includes, and the information that is straight up wrong. A true fan like you can navigate those waters safely. I would never recommend it as someone’s first exposure to Beatles literature.

‘True fan’ isn’t the word I’d use… more ‘reasonably well-educated fan’. You can be a true fan all day long and still be misinformed. Knowledge and fandom aren’t synonymous.
