There is some genius posts in a random thread about 2 girls talking about what they were doing in school today (or something along them lines) for about a page and a half of thread space. Cue Joe coming in with a “Ahhhh could you keep that to PMs please”*.
Never fails to make me laugh whenever I see it
Sunii and Lexxi! That classroom-gossip was annoying indeed.
I remember I said something overly sarcastic to Sunii in another thread about a different matter (not about her – about some tattooed rock performer I’d never heard of) and she took offense. And I never saw her post again after that, and felt guilty that I may have driven her off.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Do you guys think I should have joined around the Paulrus/MeanMrsMustard era, the Sunii/Lexxi era, or the modern era where we are now?

It was on that fateful day, the fiftieth anniversary of The Beatles arrival in the States, that thongs were forever altered.
Edit: really?! Thongs were altered?? Honestly, my typos are better than what I actually mean…

Actually, both words fit.

I hope I never have to test that to see if it holds true for mods, too.

Really? I wasn’t aware that you could change that. The highest it lets me go currently is fifty topics unread.

A conversation happened over in the Hey Joe thread about the history of the BB and its forum. I’ll add some of the information here too.
Joe began the Beatles Bible in March 2008. https://www.beatlesbible.com/about/ Somewhere, I discovered that it came to life on the 10th of that month. Where did I find that bit of info? I’ll edit this post if I ever remember.
The first post on the Beatles Bible forum was made on 20 June 2008 https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..eatles/#p1
At this link https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..3/#p113053, Joe mentions the beginnings of the forum

Hey @Joe, do you know where the first post on the forum is?
I think it was this one: https://www.beatlesbible.com/f…..e-beatles/
Jeffrey Archer was a UK politician, awful man, undeserving of being the subject of the first post. I wanted to make a post to test out the forum and needed something to write about. IIRC I stumbled upon a pic of him and The Beatles, wondered where it was from, then remembered: “Hey, I have an empty forum on my website! I’ll put it there and see if anyone replies.” It only took 14 months before someone did (other threads were more successful).
I think the first non-me/admin/test/spam account was (drumroll) @Wahlroos, who was member number 5. Although it says he joined in October 2008, roughly six months after the forum was set up, so I don’t know for sure. I do know that the community built very slowly until some kindly person once said something along the lines of “You’ve got a good site here, but your forum is rubbish. I’m going to make it better by using it.” Things picked up fairly quickly once I had five or six returning visitors who very kindly helped me out.
I don’t think there’s a way to sort the threads chronologically. I wish there was.
I don’t know how many of you know how to do this. If you put this url in to the browser bar (I will put a space in after the p in http so the entire url will show)
http ://www.beatlesbible.com/forum/profile/3/
you can see the profile for the 3rd account on the site. You can change the number to see all the accounts in order. I’m not sure if non-mods can find out someone’s specific number, but if you want to know yours, I can find it for you. I’m member #2376.

It is a lot better. Might help reduce the risk of accidentally deleting whole threads and causing a forum catastrophe.

That thought ran across my mind too. Perhaps mods on other forums had deleted whole thread too. I have to think we are not the only two in the whole wide world who have done that.

Thanks for sharing the mod toolbar AG, I think it’s interesting. This is by far the best moderated forum I’ve ever encountered. Most sites the mods only appear if there is a disagreement between members or to resolve technical issues. I was an active member for a couple of years in a finance/investment site and never once heard from the moderators (or founder for that matter). Anyway all around!

^ What happens if you warn a user? Do they just get a little notification when they log-in or does it just direct you to the PM system?
(Feel free to use me as a test dummy for this if you don’t know the answer).
