Hi everyone! This is just a suggestion, but, here it is. If there is anything you wonder about, feel free to ask!
REMEMBER: This is only a suggestion post, the real post will come if many are positive to this.
———–
Question: What is Weekly Member?
Answer: It is that every week we will select a member who deserves the title of “The Weekly Member.”
Question: How do I vote?
Answer: You just comment something like this: “I vote on [username] [and why you vote on him/her].”
Question: Can someone win twice?
Answer: No, it must go at least a week before a member can win again.
Question: What if to members got as many as the other?
Answer: Then it will be a extra round.
——————————————————–
So: What do you think? Is this possible?

I think the real challenge to an idea like this is how to do it in a way that doesn’t hurt feelings or feel highly exclusionary.

I'm also ewe2 on weekends.
Most likely to post things that make you go hmm... 2015, 2016, 2017.

I have the same concern.
As a suggestion, how about a weekly feature on a member answering some (non-invasive) questions (like favorite member, favorite album, have they seen any of them in concert, etc.) based on a pool of people willing to be considered?

This seems like a much better idea, and more realistic too, to be honest.

Its possible but not one i’m in favour of due to the reason mentioned about by others.
As for a weekly member Q&A i cant see the harm if it focuses on their Beatles likes and memories and doesn’t verge over into personal stuff as some folk are less content to reveal details about themselves than others.

We have some Q&A threads. Will those those suffice?

So we already have a Q&A? If so, another Q&A is maybe not necessary.

So this would feature a member and we have a trivia thing about the member and we swap members out every week?

I think it should be that no member can be picked for a good while after their ‘turn’ otherwise it will get repetitive and dull – or even worse and be like Paul’s monthly Q & A *shudder*. Some kind of unwritten rule that 2 or 3 months should pass before a person can be the focus of the Q&A again.

we could vote on the order of list of people and have like 20 – 30 people the number depends on active posters at the time of the voteing of the list and when we go threw the list we vote for the next one

I’d prefer it if the person answering the questions just opts for another member. The idea of voting for people doesnt sit right plus we’d have to have a vote every time and it would slow things up. If that person doesnt want to answer they ship it on to another forum regular.

The thread Annadog40 mentioned was the main one I was thinking of. Some get-to-know you questions are also asked in the Choosing Between Two Things thread. We were using the Question and Answer thread for some questions like that, but I think someone steered it back to just Q&A about the Beatles. We could reverse that policy and have the thread be like what it was for a while (either Beatles related or personal related questions).
We have so many threads where people give their preferences … favorite this-that-and-the-other, least favorite this-that-and-the-other, etc. Many people put their “top” things in their introduction (and many go on to state that those preferences change over time).
If anything we could have a standard set of questions and have a thread where people could answer that standard set of questions so that if anyone wants to look through the thread to get to know someone better they could.
