I was listening to Rattle & Hum and I realized that this song exists, which I somehow overlooked previously, and I’m very okay with it

Everything by Fistful of Mercy. Literally. Every single song on As I Call You Down is outstanding and I will have to listen to the album daily for at least a week. It makes me feel better about the fact that it’s their only album.

I’ve been going through a bit of a Tame Impala phase. I’m particularly obsessed with the song “Why Won’t They Talk To Me?” off the album Lonerism.
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! First ever Wings record I heard–my dad put it on a CD when I was very young. Never gets old. I’m actually just coming off of a little “Venus And Mars /Rock Show” kick.

I learned Heart Of The Country yesterday and have been playing/listening to it/had it stuck in my head repeatedly intermittently since then. I wanna horse, I wanna sheep, I wanna get me a good night’s sleep – living in a home in the Heart Of The Country …

As soon as I read this entirety of Heart Of The Country has been playing in my head over and over so I guess it’s stuck in my head now too
Eh but I don’t mind…it’s nice

Found this pretty good rendition of “Jazzy NYC 99′” on Youtube. Major props to the accordionist, proving that the accordion is indeed a proper instrument (despite the jokes and memes).
Side note: I’m not sure what’s the difference between the ‘What are you listening to right now’ and ‘Song you are on a kick on’ threads? Currently I use the former to talk about albums whilst the latter I do so for single songs. Could someone perhaps tell me about the difference?

@CakeMaestor, this thread is for songs you are currently obsessed with (“on a kick of” is a cludgy way of saying “I’m on a huge [insert song here] kick right now,” which is an idiomatic way of saying you’re obsessed with that song and can’t get enough of it and/or it’s stuck in your head). The listening thread is just for whatever you happen to be listening to at the moment, whether it’s a song, an albun, a playlist, the radio, etc…

Currently recovering from a pretty intense Tame Impala kick. Listened to a lot of early AC/DC for a hot second there (particularly “It’s A Long Way To The Top”), but I think I’m over that now as well. Where shall my fickle musical heart take me next? Only time will tell. When I do hit upon the next kick, I’ll be sure to let ya’ll know!
EDIT: That was a premature call on the AC/DC phase–it is still very much happening.

I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

I’ve had “I Won’t Back Down” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers stuck in my head pretty much all day.

…But, uh, if you’ll excuse me being a bit pedantic here for a moment, even though it does feature Mike and Howie, “I Won’t Back Down” was from Tom’s first solo album.
I’ve been on a bit of a kick of this song for the past few days, myself:
It came up in my recommendeds, and after giving it a listen I discovered that I’d actually heard it before, years ago (though, I’m not sure exactly where from). Then I remembered reading a few weeks ago that this is Jakob Dylan’s band! Pretty cool.

dammit I thought I was actually being correct by not just shorthanding it to “Tom Petty” by himself for once
I learned “Fistful of Mercy” yesterday evening and now I’m wondering if “The Rain Song” would be jealous if I marry “Fistful” too.

Ah, it’s ok. It’s an honest mistake.
Speaking of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (which is, in this instance, correct ), I’ve been on a kick of this track today:
