There’s a version of George’s arrangement with a Dylan vocal with on Dylan’s first bootleg package. I actually prefer Olivia Newton John’s cover of George’s arrangement. I love her voice on that one.

It’s ok, but I honestly prefer George’s version. He took the song to crazy beautiful heights!
Indeed, he did but I dunno, I think I love both about equally; each one’s got its own charms.
I’m currently on a bit of a kick of this tune:
Then again, the same could probably be said about the rest of the album: I may or may not have listened to it three times in a row this afternoon.

The first song is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. I can completely understand anybody who finds this song bloated and obnoxious in both production and tone, but I’m pretty weak to Plant’s vocals and Paul Jones’s piano.
The second song is no doubt one of Led Zeppelin’s best, nothing more to say than that. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit that I haven’t read the Lord of the Rings books yet, and I refuse to watch any of the movies due to constant insisting on reading the books first. You might say I’m a bit of a hypocrite.

I dreamed of this song and had to listen to it — that instrumental break is just inspirational.

I can’t with this song. It’s too good. I recently discovered Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space and I have to say it is rapidly climbing up my list of all time favs. But this track alone, it’s enough to kill me. Please someone that loves this track as well answer to my call! It’s too good… I can’t stop listening to it… My biggest fear is someday I’ll stop loving it because I listen too much to it!

Fantastic record! The title track, ‘Come Together ‘ and ‘Cool Waves’ are my personal favourites.

@lovelyritametermaid The Kinks had some of the best melodies, but their production always seemed to me very rough around the edges. Here exemplified in the biggest of ways. And also on one of my favourite Kinks tracks:
I know its been over-popularized by films and TV shows, but it’s still a BANGER. And now I’ll probably listen the Kinks a lot in the following week given you’ve reminded me they exist. Damn you

I agree, their production is very rough (even in the Remasters) and a lot of their early stuff sounds to me like it was bootlegged instead of professionally produced and mixed. I like to think that they did it on purpose in order to get a specific, grungy sound that differed from their peers.

Listen to this record if you haven’t. It’s 70s psychedelic rock from Argentina. To me it sounds like Spiritualized (with much crappier audio quality), but it predates them by more than 20 years. [Probably inspired by The Doors]

Wow, cool! Very psychedelic and groovy. Reminds me of a cross between the aforementioned ‘I Think I’m In Love’ and the Velvet Underground’s ‘Heroin’.

Ugh the riff of this song is so catchy! I can’t get it out of my head and because of that of course I just had to pick up my guitar and learn it!
It’s a song which I’ve loved for a while now that popped in my head today and now its stuck there!
