Oddly enough, I was never really into “Long, Long, Long ” all that much, despite how blasphemous that may sound. However, this song got stuck in my head since the morning and so I like it even more now.
Side note: I really like the 2018 rendition of this track, with an additional weight on the guitar and a nice rendition of vocals during the opening section.

You know that’s George playing slide guitar here, right? There’s the story he even humorously led a rendition of this at Harry’s funeral!

I didn’t know that but that’s so cool! Everything I listen to eventually circles back to George……

This is one song that I will never play for my younger cousin, despite my love for this particular track.
Side note: Due to the fact that Spotify only has the Iggy Pop rendition of the album, I do not have access to the David Bowie rendition. Is the Pop rendition as inferior to the Bowie rendition as so many others have said?

I don’t usually go for this artist’s type of music but this song features the Preservation Hall Jazz Band making it a bop in my eyes and therefore a song that I have been obsessing over lately:
Boyfriend (ft. Preservation Hall Jazz Band)– “Jealousy”

The Second Line or what I like to refer to as the Mardi Gras song because it’s probably the most played Mardi Gras song especially by the marching bands (although they do play other songs too). Even as Carnival Season (Mardi Gras) closes tonight it’s one of those songs like say Christmas or even a commercial jingle that will randomly pop in your head and get stuck there even when it’s not that season because it’s embedded in you.

God yes. All Iggy did was to turn up the volume to ear bleed levels. Bowies production sucks but everything in the red isn’t the answer. This is Iggy’s mix of Search and Destroy.

I’ve been really into this song lately, for some reason. I guess I really like how very lowkey it is and I’m very much addicted to Conan’s voice and the lo-fi warm bassline.
There’s also this song by the same artist, which first introduced me to Conan Gray:
I usually don’t go for music like this, but I find it quite good compared to what else is out there these days

Me, I thought Iggy’s mix helped to differentiate the guitar tracks, and finally boost “Death Trip”s volume, at least. (Plus I love the slightly extended fadeouts.) But on the whole, it really just substituted one bad mix with another. It’s one of those classic albums like “White Light/White Heat” or ‘Star Club Dec 62″, in which a bad recording seems inseparable from the super-aggressive sounds being captured.
Anyways, both seem to be on Spotify where I am…

I am friends with a load of Austrians (the Austrians, a great bunch of lads) and I like to annoy them about their government. Last year their former Vice-Chancellor was caught on camera talking to a woman who he thought was the niece of a Russian businesswoman. He was asking her to put positive news articles about his party, the FPÖ, in the media and in exchange her family would get lovely government contracts. He also hinted that other wealthy people gave his party money in exchange for favours. All of this took place in Ibiza.
Of course when the video was released, he had to resign, it caused the collapse of the Austrian government and they had to hold a new election where the FPÖ lost a 3rd of their seats.
Now the Austrians, being a great bunch of lads, decided to bring this song back into the charts where it peaked at No. 16 and so this evening I am paying tribute to the Netherlands’ greatest export, Vengaboys.
The video for it is atrocious but it would be cruel to not link to it.

Carly Simon…
I got home to New York and I heard it on a cab radio. It sounded bloody good on the radio.
The bass guitar that it’s built on from the off, that has Carly going “Son of a gun!”, is played by Klaus Voorman.

CakeMaestorI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
