@50yearslate ‘Space Oddity’, ‘Life On Mars?’, ‘Starman’, ‘Fame’*, and “Heroes” are required listening, and I also recommend the entirety of Hunky Dory — it’s his most Beatlesque, I’d say. ‘Five Years’ is reminiscent of John Lennon , really quite a few things on The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars are required listening as well. The Low album is also amazing, though it’s a bit starting in the deep end.
For deeper cuts, he’s got a song called ‘Afraid’ from which my signature quote comes, and you might also like ‘Zeroes’ (the 2018 mix, not the 1987 original) and ‘Days’. I could think of more but I don’t want to be here all night
*Features John Lennon on the backwards piano chord at the beginning, backing vocals, rhythm guitar, and general inspiration

yes, @Beatlebug is more knowledgeable here, these are all better suggestions. Don’t even get me started on how much i love Days
I’m also gonna say Letter to Hermione, just such a beautiful song. Makes me cry a lot.

It’s been awhile since i’ve posted. But i’ve been on a huge Buddy Holly and Pantera kick.
For Buddy Holly it’s “Oh Boy!”
For Pantera It’s “F*****g Hostile”

Pick me! Pick me!
Let’s see…
The absolute essentials as @Beatlebug said include Space Oddity Heroes, Life On Mars, Starman, Under Pressure and Fame
As far as straight forward rock n roll I’d go with Heroes, Rebel Rebel, Moonage Daydream, Watch That Man, Suffragette City, The Jean Genie and Ziggy Stardust.
For catchy pop, Changes, Oh! You Pretty Things, Starman, Kooks, Young Americans (Look out for the A Day In The Life reference in this one) and Let’s Dance.
If you’re looking for something a bit more far out I’d recommend the title track from Blackstar, Station To Station, Aladdin Sane and Always Crashing In The Same Car.

Back on topic, I’ve been on a huge Kero Kero Bonito kick, since I’m hopefully seeing them live soon. Here’s my favourite song of theirs – it’s basically just really happy synthpop with vocals in both English and Japanese.

TheWalrusWasBrian, 50yearslate, BeatlebugI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Ikr! I’ve always been a musical connoisseur. My metalhead friends have converted me into a Pantera fanatic

Recently, I’ve been listening to Julia a lot more often which I don’t understand why I put myself through all the emotions that are in that song. Also, I know that John, George, and Ringo would be angry about this, but Maxwell’s Silver Hammer has been a song I’ve been putting on repeat a lot over the past few weeks.
