I will make it my mission! But I want to buy a few CDs first…
Thank you! yep, CDs are cool, too, but they don’t keep as long as records (some of my mum’s old records that I’ve stolen/adopted are more than 50 years old…) and they don’t sound as good. But they are still cool!

Yeah my main concern is accessibility. I can get the music on my computer and phone with CDs, so I can listen to it wherever I want as long as I have my phone… much simpler than carrying around a turntable
Also, I prefer listening to music with earbuds, so there’s that… and there’s also the problem of cost. CDs are cheaper, so I’m going to start with them.

Guilty as charged. About leaving the house, though; I leave to go to school, I leave to babysit… I… hmm, let’s think… sometimes I leave to go on vacation… occasionally I leave to buy things, like pet food or books… I do 4H… sometimes we visit family members… but yeah that’s pretty much it. I don’t like leaving my house if I can avoid it. But music on plane trips is essential so yeah.
And to fix the derailing problem… what’s another song… uh… Cold Turkey . I’ve been listening to a lot of John lately.

The most important thing, @50yearslate and others, are the recordings – which there are many ways to own now – rather than the packaging, much as I love much of it.
In this way I am so jealous of you youngsters. My music collection has been built up over nearly 40 years, the first single I bought me being on 6 December 1980, though already owning a few cassettes I had been given, and having an older sister who knew a few musicians who would get a bit known.
I remember it taking me about 3 years to get a decent Arthur Alexander album, now I can pull up one on YT or Spotify or whatever in around 3 seconds…
You youngsters can roam the musical world in a way and with an ease we just couldn’t…
There is just so much to enjoy and discover.
I have a big collection because I’ve been here on the planet for a bit and when you’ve had the same length bit here your music collection will probably outshine mine…
Just the way it goes. Enjoy all the music you’re yet to discover, and be adventurous with it… don’t just go where the algorithms point you…

I understand that! I still don’t have much variety after the Johnny Cash Obsession Years followed by the Bowie/Beatles/Stones Years (current era)… but Bowie is great. He’s my top rock n roll crush (besides ringo, or maybe it’s a tie)
oh, and he makes great music, too!

I’ve never experienced that. When I was a kid, I listened to my parents’ music and that was it. From my late-elementary-school years to the first half of freshman year, I just listened to whatever was on the radio. I didn’t have opinions about artists, I just knew which songs I was okay with and which ones I didn’t like. I was never really passionate about music until I got back into the Beatles, and now I’m obsessed. My dad once said, “I don’t know whether to be impressed or scared.”
And here we go again with the derailing! Ahhhhhhh!

*murmurs about how I need to finish my derailing* Yeh, i was that way, too, until i was in 4th or 5th grade and i thought “Who is this guy my mum listens to sometimes, he’s cool” it took me a couple of years to listen to anything, and I mean anything else.

Good try, though.
Reporter: Beethoven figures in one of your songs. What do you think of Beethoven?
Ringo Starr: He’s great. Especially his poetry.

That was an experience reading through all 32 songs you guys were on a kick of… or not.
Song I’m on a kick of: Play That Funky Music. For anyone who likes great basslines and clavichord… I strongly recommend it.

I’m not the biggest Death Grips fan but this song is insanely catchy and quotable
I've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Nineteen Hundred And Eighty Five again… I’m never not on a kick of this song. I love it so insanely much. And now that I have Pure McCartney I can listen to it whenever I want instead of going on YouTube
