I have two for you here, both played multiple times over the last few days.
Another preview of Bob’s upcoming Bootleg Series Volume 14: More Blood, More Tracks, the second take of You’re a Big Girl Now, recorded 16 September 1974:
The great Townes Van Zandt’s Waiting Around to Die from the 1975/76 film about the Outlaw Country movement, Heartworn Highways (not released until 1981). Townes’ contribution was originally meant to be the great Pancho & Lefty (which influenced the Wilburys’ Tweeter and the Monkey Man). When they caught this performance in Townes’ kitchen though, his 75-year-old friend and neighbour “Walking Blacksmith” Seymore Washington sitting in the background, Washington’s reaction made for an incredibly powerful piece of film that had to go into the film. (The fragment heard at the beginning is Guy Clark’s That Old Time Feeling.):

What You’re Doing. This has always been one of my absolute favourite Beatles songs. I can’t ever get enough of that instrumental section and the harmonising.

and also
Muse – ‘The Dark Side (Alternate Reality Version)’ – 2018

A track from Primal Scream’s 1989 self-titled second album, I’m Losing More Than I’ll Ever Have:
Bobby Gillespie would refer to it as his first great song, but it became more… The band approached DJ Andrew Weatherall to remix it, and they renamed the mix he brought back to them, stripped of the original song’s vocals, Loaded, which became their breakthrough single and was the starting point for their monster third album, 1991’s majestic Mercury Award-winning Screamadelica…
and, wonderfully, when Terry Farrell was brought in to remix Loaded, he reintroduced a chunk of the I’m Losing More… vocal, taking it full circle, back to Loaded and Screamadelica‘s beginning…
and there was a beautiful acoustic version of I’m Losing More… by Creation labelmate Idha, who if I remember correctly was a Swedish singer/songwriter who was married to someone out of Ride, another Creation band… great version though…
A great song in many guises…

Lately I’ve not been able to get over this fascinating combination of Moriconne and soul/funk…

That song is pretty great, especially the effects on the backing vocals.
