Pink Floyd – Point Me At The Sky (1968)Those of you who saw my post over at The Pink Floyd Sound Forum will know how much I love this song.
Yay! Cool thing! I have just ‘recovered’ from a severe Echoes kick myself, ah what a great song! And currently, I’m on a kick off… Something ! I haven’t listened to Abbey Road in a way too long time and the first time I’ve listened to Something again now moved me so much. George’s a real genius!

I went for a nice bike ride this afternoon, and inexplicably I couldn’t stop singing That Means A Lot . I probably sang it 6 times total, then came back and listened on repeat.

I really don’t understand how it never saw a release until the Anthology, which got a similar treatment to Not Guilty . Its totally washed in reverb, and pales in comparison to take 1.

Heard this in an advert and recognised it (the bit beginning at ~1:40); I finally figured out that I’d heard it in this Google Doodle.

That is such a great song indeed! Especially the lines
The guns shot above our heads
And we kissed
As though nothing could fall
What a powerful message! By the way, a great way to listen to it is while running through an open field, one feels Free As A Bird then. Not that this is in any way connected to personal experience…

^ That sound amazing! I must try it. I’m sure it would make me feel Invincible*.
*'”Heroes”‘ reminds me of Invincible, slightly.

Spent most of today listening to Steven Wilson’s new album, To the Bone. Very prog-rock-ish. Loving the title track:

@Ron Nasty very cool, I’ll have to give it a listen. My friend is a huge Steven Wilson fan, and has had me listen to most of his albums.

Beatlebug, SgtPeppersBulldog, Martha, WeepingAtlasCedarsI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.

Ok, I’ve suggested the song to the band, and hopefully they say yes! Wouldn’t it be nice to do that song…
