Recently, A Day In The Life .
For some reason, that song had to grow on me over the years even though I knew it was pure genius.
I've been listening on the headphones recently on repeat. The cresendo of the orchestra into the alarm clock and Paul's section. Then the cresendo into the final chord. WOW!!!!!!
Phil Spector has no idea what a wall of sound is.
I've found my new messenger nickname. Here's to you c64wood.

So I sat in the attic
With a kilo up my nose
And the wind played a dreadful cantata
Bringing you the best and worst of The Beatles, since 2007.

I like this thread, you get to update it every week. Right now, I'm listening to a lot of George Harrison solo stuff and I'm just completely stuck on Brainwashed. It just sounds like summer I guess, especially Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea which I've been playing a lot on my ukulele.
That's triggered me to listen to more of George's Beatle stuff so right now I'm pretty obsessed with Piggies . It sounds like a very English and proper song, but the lyrics are so funny. Is he talking about people that are a little on the heavy side or is he talking about politicians? I've always thought the latter, but who knows.

“She's Leaving Home,” “Rain ,” and “You Can't Do That.”

Actually it's been raining a lot these days in my city (not nice for the people in Monterrey, worst disaster ever for them) and I love to play the song with my speakers loud with the heavy rain outside and the smell of the soil and the mango tree in my garden. Awesome.

That's awesome. I love how the Beatles created songs for anything that could possibly be going on. It's usually such simple things like rain that remind me of the Beatles in some funny little way.

Whatever the last one I heard was. Really, I'm awful.
'While My Guitar Gently Weeps ,' 'Rain ,' 'Paperback Writer ,' 'She's Leaving Home,' and always, ALWAYS 'I Am The Walrus ' and 'A Day In The Life .'
But somehow my iTunes says it's all about 'Here Comes The Sun .'
Great thread.

I've had Hold Me Tight in my head all day, but I'm not sure if I like the song or not. It's just there.

Beatles-wise: Come And Get It from Anthology 3 .
Paul McCartney -wise… No More Lonely Nights. The corniest lyrics EVER, but, his voice in it is wonderful.
Tongue, lose thy light. Moon, take thy flight… see ya, George!

That made me think of “I've Got a Feeling.” Not corny, but every time John sings the “wet dream” part, I think, “TMI, John!” But his voice is so… smooth. It makes me go, “Aaaah.” Not “AAAAAAAH,” “Aaaah.” If you could hear me, you'd get it.

What is the weird sound in that song that sounds like a guitar chord fading in?
"The best band? The Beatles. The most overrated band? The Beatles."
