I can’t get enough of ‘Is There Anybody Out There‘ (the latter half).

My favorite song from that album is the one where the kid goes, “Look mommy, there’s an airplane up in the sky.”

‘Goodbye Blue Sky’ is a very good song. And the kid happens to be Roger Waters’s son Harry (who was two at the time).

Vera is the song I’ve been really into off The Wall these days. These Days by Jackson Browne I have also been very into.

I heard this song at about 1AM driving back from Seattle. I forgot how much I liked it. It’s been buzzing in and out of my head ever since.

I’m really into “As Far As We Can Go” by Richie Starr.  Also I’m loving “Cheese and Onions” by the Rutles.

^^’Cheese And Onions’, YES!

I’ve gotten into ‘Another Day ‘ quite a lot recently, and ‘Supermassive Black Hole’ by Muse has been earworming me today.

School’s Out by Alice Cooper.

The guitarists in the back are very Pepper-esque in their clothing choices.

For no reason I can figure, She’s A Woman . The 7ths sound great on a uke. I tried to do the melody in falsetto on the kazoo and made myself almost choke laughing.

There’s your answer. a-hard-days-night-george-10

Just kidding, the song kick (usually) comes before the incessant strumming of said song on chosen instrument. Trust me, I know. a-hard-days-night-john-6

Though in the case of ‘Another Day ‘, I learnt it, and then got obsessed with it. So it’s sometimes the other way around… I guess it just depends ahdn_george_01

On the face of it She’s A Woman is just a simple rockabilly tune but it’s still irresistible. He wrote a melody that makes the chords happier, and that’s hard to do with a 7th, it’s already up there a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Things We Said Today

I’ve been listening a lot to Hollywood Bowl this week, and the amped-up guitar transition to the bridge just suddenly sucked me into this song.  It’s not that I ever disliked this song, but I’ve also never loved it.  To be honest, there was some kind of hole in my brain where this song should have been, I think.  Up until now, every time I’d see the title, I’d struggle to even remember what it was, like what’s the melody, which song is this?

And now I can’t get it out of my head.  Hole finally filled?

ahdn_paul_06 and that, ladies and gentlemen, is the reason I will never say there is a bad Beatles song. There are just some I haven’t come to appreciate yet. I am so happy you are now an even more well-rounded Beatles fan, @BluemeanAl. heart

It’s always surprising to me and most delightful that, after being a Beatles fan for more than 50 years, this kind of thing still happens.

Nothing will make me come to appreciate ‘Hold Me Tight ‘.
