I thought I saw something where he was talking about how it was about a psychedelic milkshake or something. I love that song !

The descending bass pattern that is repeated twice (I think) in “Monkberry Moon Delight ” is essentially the same as from “Nineteen Hundred and Eight-Five” —

in the key of C minor:

C — Bb — Ab — G7sus — G7 — back to C

with the G7 chord, there is a strong feel of using the B natural note to bridge back to C.

This pattern has a very different feel in “Monkberry Moon Delight “, used nicely for dramatic effect, augmented by Paul’s vocalisms.

Cbatcu –
Geez do I feel like a twit! The article with Macca talking about MMD came from right here at the Beatles Bible. D’oh!!

WhereArtEsteban-
Right you are.

Funny Paper-
You’re absolutely right about the bassline. Also I believe they’re exactly the same tempo, or very close.

Hiding in plain sight. Very strange. Do you hear an echo, walrusgumboot? :-)

Danke Schön

Today its Across The Universe , LIB Naked version. Like I said before, no strings, no Scruffs, no Spector, just John. Perfection.

Nice – I haven’t heard the album yet – I should be there sometime in the next couple of weeks at the current rate of ‘catching up’.

I am quite curious to hear it as “Let It Be ” was my first ever record purchase, we got our first ever record player the week before it came out (Dad was always into tapes before that so my music ‘collection’ up to then was all taped off the radio).

Watched a documentary about Band On The Run recently and now I can’t stop listening to that album. Mamunia has been stuck in my head for a few days now.

It’s a great album – and it has left me nearly bankrupt.  The CD was on sale a couple of months ago and I remembered how much I liked it way back when and so I bought it.

Then, I remembered I had been meaning to replace the LPs I sold many many years ago with nice new CDs – the rest, as they say, is a stack of 50+ discs to listen to and watch.

And all because of that awesome Paul McC album …

Yes, it took me around 25 years to remember all that – sigh.

The mono Tomorrow Never Knows is buttering my toast just now. I had never heard it before and I’ve been a fan since ’79!

Ha ha – yes.  I listened to it about 5 times after I bought it and then went back to the store and bought the 2009 stereo remasters boxed set.  It cost quite a lot but I was so fired up by Paul that I didn’t want to wait for a mail order.  The store often has 20% off sales but the big black box used to vanish mysteriously every time they did so I just hit the plastic.

I’m glad I did, the music is wonderful (of course), and then I got to meet all you fine folks :)

I have been depressed lately because of my ever nearing graduation from college, and obvious lack of money and plans. I can’t stop listening to Help ! its been comforting that at least John felt how I feel now at one point in his life.

I was there once. Hang in there, keep your chin up, and read professional blogs and journals in your chosen career field to help prepare for interviews. When you go in to an interview be prepared to wow them with your knowledge of the field’s current trending issues.
