‘Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding’ by Elton John

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

The Kinks – ‘Tired of waiting for you’

Loving the guitar on this song :D

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

Sun King

Don’t know why, might be the weather, but I love the guitars in it. I love the instrumental.

Lay Lady Lay by Bob Dylan

I was reading something about Bob Dylan the other day and this song was mentioned. I hadn’t heard this song in such a long time.

^ Ugh, I detest that song with a passion. Probably ’cause I have absolutely no idea what he’s saying in it.

Yea I can only listen to a few Dylan songs that are sung by himself. I love his lyrics, but I’m not really a fan of his voice.

With any luck, Dylan will never record a duet album with Stevie Nicks…at least not without an interpreter.

Today, I’m finding it difficult to remove George Harrison ‘s ‘Beware Of Darkness ‘ from my mental playlist.

Hate to be awkward, but I think Dylan has one of the greatest voices. I’ll admit it’s not always the most beautiful instrument, but dissonance has its own rewards once you embrace it.

I’ve never really thought of him as a singer. I mean, obviously he is, but he doesn’t really sing, he kind of half-sings, half-speaks his lyrics, almost like a Beat poet would. I’m not the biggest fan of his voice (his lyrics, however…) but I don’t mind listening to him as much as a lot of people seem to.

I haven’t exactly been checking his full discography, but out of the songs I know by him, I only find a couple bearable to listen to.

I don’t like his voice that much either, and that is crucial to me when I’m listening to someone. The singer has to have a decent voice. Also, I hate harmonicas (hence the hatred for Beatlessongs like Love Me Do and such) so that doesn’t really help either.

Have been listening to a lot of Janis Joplin recently. Dear God , what a voice!

Particularly these two:
