We are all incredibly sad in this house, we’re all big Bond fans as I’ve said before and Connery was the one who everyone else preferred bar me who loves Roger Moore.
The iconic Bonds are gone, someone keep Dalton and Lazenby safe! (I imagine Brosnan and Craig can take care of themselves for a while).
RIP Papa Jones, King Agamemnon and Mr Bond 🙁

In a sudden announcement, Bones Hillman, bassplayer of Midnight Oil, has died in Milwaukee Wisconsin of cancer at 62. This is a tremendous loss, he was the third and longest-serving of all the Oils bassplayers, and arguably the most talented. He took on a very difficult role at a pivotal moment in the history of the band and not only made it work, but propelled the band into a new era. I was inspired by his style in the new music and his tone which ultimately changed my approach to bass. So hats off to you Bones, rest easy mate, always missed, never forgotten

RIP to Ken Hensley, keyboardist and primary songwriter for Uriah Heep (during his tenure with group). He also sang lead on some tracks including Lady In Black.
I always thought he deserved more credit for his talents and contributions to the music industry.

I first saw this video a year ago and it gave me mad respect for Alex Trebek. Within the first couple minutes, it shows how seriously he took his hosting duties. It also shows what a down-to-earth person he was and the sense of humor he had. RIP.

I love quiz shows and had recently started watching Jeopardy! after some episodes appeared on UK Netflix. Very sad to hear!

Jeopardy has been a staple show in my house while growing up. The next guy may do a wonderful job hosting the show, but it will truly never be the same without Alex Trebek.

The BBC are reporting, following his refusal to be treated for Covid-19, Britain’s most notorious serial killer of my lifetime, Peter Sutcliffe, dubbed the Yorkshire Ripper, has died at the age of 74.
Convicted of the brutal murder of 13 women, the attempted murder of 7 more, with probably more unsolved cases that he was responsible for, I hope the b*****d suffered at the end.
May he rot in hell.
May his victims rest in peace:
Wilma McCann, 28, Leeds, October 1975
Emily Jackson, 42, Leeds, January 1976
Irene Richardson, 28, Leeds, February 1977
Patricia Atkinson, 32, Bradford, April 1977

Sad to hear of the death of Dave Prowse, the physical presence of one of cinema’s greatest villains, Darth Vader, at the age of 85.
His Bristol accent didn’t really cut it as the menacing Vader though, and George Lucas had James Earl Jones dub the dialogue without telling Prowse, because this wasn’t deemed right for how Vader should sound…
God ! This scene is hilarious with Prowse voicing Vader:
But I will always remember him best as the Green Cross Code Man, who taught me to stop, look, and listen…
He was always most proud of his role as the Green Cross Code Man, and it was that which saw him awarded an MBE.
RIP David Charles Prowse MBE (1 July 1935 – 28 November 2020)

Not sure if anybody else here knows about this, but Ryan Brady, co-host of the brilliant Take It Away podcast about Paul’s solo discography, died in a car accident a few days ago at the age of 34. A very tragic loss, as his podcast in the last year or so introduced me to some great album tracks and bonus/unreleased gems and played a big part in making me the solo Paul fanatic I am now. I was really looking forward to hearing their take on McCartney III but now it doesn’t look like that will be coming any time soon. R.I.P. Ryan

Missed the opportunity to post this a few days ago, but thinking of the family and friends of legendary Argentine football player Diego Maradona. A true people’s hero, he rose from the shantytowns of Buenos Aires to becoming one of the most acclaimed players in the sport, recovered from a brush with addiction, and stayed true to his principles throughout, championing the people of Latin America and Palestine against imperialism.
Rest in power; a true legend.

SgtPeppersBulldog, sir walter raleighI've been up on the mountain, and I've seen his wondrous grace,
I've sat there on the barstool and I've looked him in the face.
He seemed a little haggard, but it did not slow him down,
he was humming to the neon of the universal sound.
