Former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke has passed away aged 89.A giant of Australian politics, winning four elections, he made an impression on the international scene few Australian politicians had previously.
RIP Robert James Lee Hawke, AC, GCL (9 December 1929 – 16 May 2019).
RIP. One of our most famous and popular politicians.

What terrible news just 2 days out from the election.
RIP Bob. One of the last true politicians that got stuff done, what a legend.
Hawke actually said in December last year that his health was so bad he likely wouldn’t make it to the next election, and sure enough, he held true to his word.

R.I.P Bob Hawke. He did some good things for Australia.
Paul Keating is my favourite Australian politician. His personality reminds me of John. Colourful language, aggression, clever wit, etc. Not as publicly popular as Hawke was, but a really clever man who knows his stuff. I’m glad he met Hawke one last time recently and managed to put their differences aside. They were a great team.

Very sad to hear of the death, at the age of 70, of motor racing legend, and three-time Formula 1 champion, Niki Lauda.
He was truly one of the sporting giants. Winning his first title for Ferrari in 1975, the following year he was involved in an horrific crash that saw him receiving very bad burns when the car burst into flames, nearly killing him and leaving him badly scarred for life. He was back racing just six weeks later, and got his second title with Ferrari in 1977. His third title came with McClaren in 1984, making him the only driver to win titles with the two leading Formula 1 teams.
RIP Andreas Nikolaus Lauda (22 February 1949 – 20 May 2019).

Rest in Peace! He was a master of going faster…
From the sleeve of George Harrison (1979 eponymous album):
“Faster” is inspired by Jackie Stewart and Nicki Lauda.

RIP Paul Darrow, otherwise known as Avon, the anti-hero costar of Blake’s 7. He almost died in 2015 to an aneurysm, but lost both his legs to a circulation failure that couldn’t be mended. Darrow wasn’t just a star of Blake’s 7, he was also a star of many TV shows and stage. He went to RADA with both John Hurt and Ian McShane. I’m glad some Big Finish audios happened, he was always pushing for Blake’s 7 to return in some way.

Very sorry to hear that, @PauliesGirl. Loss is never easy, and obviously worse when it’s your last family member.
Judging by her wonderful daughter, she was a great mum.
My deepest condolences and much love.
