On a personal note, my father died 11/30/17. He had just turned 91 about a week earlier. I won’t bore you with his life story, but his health took a major downturn after falling and breaking his hip last April.
On a celebrity note, RIP to Marty Allen, the funny half of the Allen and Rossi comedy team. He was 95. I’ll bet you saw them on many variety or talk shows in the 60s and 70s. Or you may have seen them in the movie Last Of The Secret Agents.
You are all my friends.

Very saddened to hear the breaking news of the death of Liverpudlian comedian Ken Dodd at the age of 90.
He had his Beatles connections, the most well-known of which was their appearance on his early ’60s radio show, when they performed She Loves You . There is a disputed recording believed to be that performance.
He was a great comedian, and is probably the biggest loss of one of Liverpool’s giants since George. Though he has been ill much of this year, with his death already falsely reported during February, it doesn’t make his loss easier.
AG may remember his statue in Lime Street Station, travelling down South, tickle stick in hand, Diddy Man sticking his head out of his travelling case…
As important as the musicians were to Liverpool, so were the comedians, and few – if any – were more important than Ken… And he didn’t mind sitting on the shoulders of giants…
Of the Liverpool entertainment giants (and those giants didn’t seem to mind Doddy sat on their shoulders too much), he was one of the toppermost of the poppermost, and I’m saddened to hear of his loss…
RIP Sir Kenneth Arthur Dodd OBE!

Here’s Doddy with the Beatles:
I was going to say I saw some clips of this interview this week which I didn’t know existed but this is a much londer version and I never knew it was this long. That was a really entertaining watch and Ken Dodd will be greatly missed. A true leg end.

Utterly shocking news. Such a mastermind, but it’s been 56 years since he was supposed to die… A real asset lost.

The loss of his great mind is a blow to humankind.
What endeared him to me was his sense of humor. Fans of the show The Big Bang Theory will know what I am talking about as he made several appearances. These two are my faves.
In this episode, Sheldon and Hawking had engaged in an online word game. After Sheldon had built a huge advantage in score, Hawking had not responded in several days. Fearing he would never hear from Hawking again, Sheldon threw the game and let Hawing win. This prompted some trash talk from Hawking.
