I’ve been a fan since I saw them in October 1993 (the day I passed my driving test). I saw them a few more times after, and they were always great. The last time was about five years ago and Mark E Smith spent about fifteen minutes tangling himself up in his mic cable (I couldn’t tell whether or not it was done purposefully). I think it took him longer to get out again at the end of the show.
This is from an NME compilation of re-recorded Beatles songs, Sgt Pepper Knew My Father (1988):

Another colleague has died of the flu.
He was a librarian at Oklahoma State University. I’ve worked with him on statewide committees since I have been in Oklahoma.
R.I.P., my friend.

My sympathies, @Ahhh Girl.
This flu season is certainly taking its toll. A close friend of my friend Ray died at the beginning of last week. Then, on Tuesday, I went around to get some money out of the Post Office only to discover that the guy who ran it, Mr P, died on Sunday from a heart attack brought on by flu.
While I can’t say I knew him well or anything, it’s been my PO for over 20 years now, and I’ve seen him at least a couple of times a week over those years. He was always extremely helpful and we’d normally chat for a few minutes. It’s strange going into the shop and not seeing him behind the PO counter.
RIP Mr. Patel.

Dennis Edwards, one of the great Temptations lead singers from across the decades, has passed away at the age of 74 (just about).
Edwards joined the group in 1968, making his mark straight away…
…and would go on to feature on two of their greatest…
RIP Dennis Edwards (3 February 1943-2 February 2018).

Sorry to hear that, Von Bontee. My condolences.
Sounds like she had a full life, and a strong family supporting her.

Von Bontee, condolences for the loss of your Aunt Sally. It seems she was quite a character loved by many. I’ll be sure to tip my cap to her when my Yankees play against her Blue Jays.

Oh @Von Bontee (and @vonbontee), I’m so sorry to hear that the Cosmic Shithammer has struck your family. Do you think borderline alcoholism and very loud music would help, a little? In any case, I’m sending & to you and your family.

RIP Vic Damone. I was reading about his life this evening and he was originally put forward for the role of the Mafia controlled singer in The Godfather as there were a lot of parallels with his own career. I doubt The Beatles were fans when he was having hits in the late fifties but he did have a beautiful voice. https://www.theguardian.com/mu…..e-obituary
