George Michael’s dead. It sucks, as now they’re going to start playing his songs on the radio more. I already heard the song Careless Whisper come on since his death, I’m scared the airwaves are going to be infected with George’s horrible ear bleeding vocal chords, even more than usual. I know this message sounds partially f***ed up and may piss some people off and I think anyone dying is depressing (except maybe people like Adolf Hitler or Saddam Hussein), but I just don’t like his music.

Well then. Whatever.

Sadly Carrie Fisher didn’t make it. I was hoping she would, but it wasn’t looking that promising. RIP Princess.

Ps Sam Leach’s book is well worth a read.
Also I love this song by George Michael but it has taken on a much sadder tone now

The nitpicker in me has to point out that Lemmy died late last year, not this year.

Very tragically, it is being reported that actress Debbie Reynolds, mother of Carrie Fisher, suffered a stroke today, and her son Todd has confirmed her passing at the age of 84.
What a dreadful, dreadful few days for the family. My thoughts go out to them.
RIP Debbie.

Though I’ve uttered a hearty “GET F**KED 2016!” to a few of these celebrity deaths, as well as other events, a couple articles came my way on Facebook that were interesting:
http://scienceblogs.com/gregla…..ars-did/
No. Not really a record year at all according to this. “But, the particular celebrities that did die included a disproportionate number of people that those who inhabit Facebook and Twitter, or perhaps, who simply exist in the modern Western world, were attached to.” So it’s hitting especially hard this year because these in particular are celebrities that we grew up with / around and were attached to.

This makes a bit of sense actually. I lost my brother in 1991 to addiction. Crack among other things. He was 22.
And here’s the full list of those we lost in 2016:

So many lived to very old age and lived long, full lives, giving much to the world. There are also those who left us way too young having much more to give.

I just saw a funereal-looking van pulling into my neighbour’s drive — he has been ailing for some time so I wouldn’t be too surprised, but it still sucks.

I could not agree more. In memory of Matt Busby, I present to you the following. It is only fitting that it came from a show that MB loved and often posted about in these very pages. Strong language alert for the more sensitive among us.
So, I Googled F**k You 2016. I love the Internet.

One more day to go, 2016. Now it’s Jacaranda Club owner and early Beatles manager, Allan Williams.
