As you guys know, I was born in 1967 and although my parents tell me I liked The Beatles when they were still around, I am too young to remember it for myself, as I was 3 when they split up (this is why I call myself a 2nd gen fan). I was wondering if there was way I can recover memories that happened when I was say 2 years old because the only way I can sort of remember this stuff is from my parents telling me and some pictures. The first memory I have of any music when it was new is Led Zeppelin IV and my first Beatles memory that I didn’t get from pictures or listening to my mother talk about me being a baby would have to be around the time of the 1962-1966/1967-1970 albums. That’s not all I want to remember, my father said I used to like the 66′ Batman, 67′ Spider Man, and the original Star Trek, but I can’t remember it either and my dad claims he took me to see Planet Of The Apes when I was 2, but I can’t remember it either. I understand that most people don’t develop permanent memories until they’re 4, but I was hoping to recover some memories of me at a younger age. Thanks for your help.
Maybe you should try posting more.

Have you tried Hypnosis? Also the recollections of others could and probably has tainted your memories some what, plus memories aren’t always reliable.

There are a number of types of therapy that could possibly help you recall forgotten memories, its a matter of finding the one that works for you. Best advice is search around your local area for what is available to you and then give it a try; a quick Google search should bring up results. It can be very costly for a session however.

There’s a little bit of contradiction in this post, though. Often, hypnosis used for the purpose of recovering memories results in the therapist tainting the patient’s memories by asking leading questions and just generally biasing in other ways.

That is the problem with memory recovery in general.
