@fabfouremily was one of the biggest Pink Floyd fans here, i wonder if she would have delighted or not.
So this additional work on tracks that were shelved in 1994 so to bring them up to scratch? Is this the new way forward for older bands who split and/or have members who have died as Queen Brian May and Roger Taylor are working on unreleased material for a new album as well? Was this common practice before Free As A Bird and Real Love ?

Interesting questions. This era was very divisive for the band and fans so it will be interesting to hear it and see what Roger thinks (if anyone cares what he thinks any more). I have been a fan for many many years and have all their albums and a lot of videos and quite enjoy them in all their phases. I always wondered if ffe was referring to ‘See Emily Play’ – guess I know now

Pink Floyd to release new album in October
I’m surprised that this hasn’t been mentioned yet.
For some reason this just can’t excite me.

Whilst having listened to and enjoyed ‘Wish You Were Here’ i have zero yearning to listen to anything else of theirs, had Dark Side Of The Moon on my ipod for ages and having never got the impetus to play it it got taken off.

I feel a mixture of excitement and apprehension about the Endless River. Fans have known about the ‘Big Spliff’ sessions in ‘94 for a while so it’ll be very nice to hear what they did, but it seems a little strange now Rick has passed away. Especially if they do tour, as has been suggested – would it be right if they bring someone else in to play his parts? Nobody could ever do it like he could.
Unlike many I quite like the Division Bell, and was happy for that to be the last Floyd album considering the circumstances. I was very surprised to hear they’re going to make one more.
If they do it well, then hopefully it’ll act as a nice tribute to Rick, and consolidate his part in the band. He’s often unfairly overlooked; perhaps that will change after October. I hope so.

Hmm, so I presume “Autumn ’68” is gonna be a sequel to “Summer ’68” from “Atom Heart Mother “? That’s intriguing.
Laughable album cover…looks like the poster to some Disney adventures-on-a-boat CGI epic.
Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

Couldn’t think of a Beatley topic to put this. If there is one, I’ll x-post. Consequence of Sound article on Pink Floyd encountering The Beatles in 1967.

Since this thread resurfaced, I’ll mention that I thought The Endless River was fantastic. Not incredible, but really good and enjoyable. My favorite track from the main album is probably either Allons-y (1) or Talkin’ Hawkin’, but my absolute favorite is Nervana, which is only available on the deluxe version. It’s really great.
