$1.05 vs $1.04 such a big change. Worth spending money on making over-expensive pennies or spending money on making a new penny.
It absolutely is. In fact, the worst part is that no prices will go down but they’ll all go up. For example, if Walmart decided to sell a Buddy Holly collector’s doll for $19.36 and then pennies get discontinued, they’ll raise the price to $19.40 rather then lower it to $19.35 and they might even do it if it’s right on the nickel. For example, if Dicks Sporting Goods sold a baseball throwing lifesized model of John Lennon with built in radio for $910.4, they might just raise the price up to $910.45 because everything else is getting a higher price.

The way they do it in Australia may not be the same way that they do it in the US. You’re fortunate enough where you pay less because of that but there’s nothing preventing companies here in the US from raising prices if pennies and nickels (which are hated for similar reasons) are abolished. Let’s say something costs $2.31 but then pennies and nickels are abolished on the same day so the guy raises the price to $2.4, it can happen. However, i am happy that it’s doing well for you.

That’s great for Canada but how do we know that the US would do the same thing. Like i said earlier, there’s nothing stopping businessmen from raising prices up 1-5 cents if we abolish pennies or 1-10 cents if we abolish nickels as well as pennies.

In the video, it shows that this is a waste of tax money and peoples time. Both cpuld be spent on things that aren’t a mpney sink.
You presnted no valid reason to not get rid of this waste of money and time.

Do you think America should be ruled by a monarchy like England. Call me crazy, anti American, or deserving to be on the $10 bill but i think that America should be ruled by a monarchy, here are my reasons.
1. In a royal family, you are raised to become a ruler whereas in the US and other non-monarchical countries, you aren’t.
2. Queen Elizabeth is so much better than Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton combined, i wish she ruled the US.
3. There’s no worrying about who will win the election, you know who will become leader and there’s no mandatory voting because there is no voting.
4. I think the UK does things better than the US when it comes to many things and since they have a monarchy instead of a president, i say we need a king as well.
5. Contrary to popular belief, kings and queens can be nice people who actually care about their country and the people within it, don’t let King George III fool you.

I hate to disillusion you, @Dark Overlord, but we are not ruled by the Royal Family. We have something called a constitutional monarchy, which basically means – though the Queen is the head of State – she has no real political power. Political power is in the hands of the elected Government and the Houses of Parliament, and in whose hands political power is held is decided by regular elections. In fact, I have no idea of the Queen’s political views and senior royals, such as the Prince of Wales, who do at times get what’s considered too political are often criticised.
Most monarchies are now constitutional. If you want to find countries where you still have monarchies that actually rule, you need to look at places like Saudi Arabia, which in so many ways is a family dictatorship with a disgusting record on human rights and equality.
It is a long time since the UK has had an absolute monarchy, and though the Queen does theoretically have some political power, were she to ever to use it it would lead to a constitutional crisis, and probably the abolition of the Royal Family, to be replaced with an elected head of state without political power (such as exists in the Republic of Ireland).

There’s a real movement here in Australia to abandon the Commonwealth and become a republic, and I completely agree with those who want to become a republic. The queen lives 15000 km away, what right should she have to tell us how to behave?
