I believe in God however God and I have issues which no Christian i know can answer – and i have asked. I was a born-again Christian for a handful of years, baptised etc, and maybe i still am, but am no longer walking in the righteous path. I also have a number of issues with the Church, for instance being told what to do by a man who is no better than I or how so much uttered is clichéd scripture with zero actual insight into the situation aside from its vague similarity to. Give me honestly not some token remembered verse. The church issues are small compared to my larger stand-off with God however. The church i was part of fell apart after i left. When i left it was falling apart and was filled with folk praising one another to their faces yet stabbing them in the gut as soon as they turned their back.
If you’d like to PM me your questions or issues I’ll give it a shot.

I don’t identify as any sub-category of Christianism. I just believe in the Bible and do what I think is right in God ‘s eyes.
Churches are a horrible bore, and if you don’t agree with everything they do, you’re ostracized. (I got kicked out of the church I used to go to for disagreeing with some of there ideals.
you church!)
I am you as you are you as you are you and you are all together.

I went to Sunday school for a short while as a child, because I wanted to learn more about christianity, my family were a mixed bag of believers and atheists, I was encouraged to form my own opinions and decide for myself. Evenrtually in my late teens, for me, I couldn’t believe anything other than man created god. I dislike preachy atheists as much as preachy believers, but… I do feel very strongly that religion needs to stay out of politics and government, it closes down open debate and encourages conformity.

You got banned from a church for disagreeing with them, that really sucks, and to think I thought that it was bad that my family almost got banned from a church because my mentally retarded brother was acting like his usual self, AKA doing stupid stuff and having fits.
I must say though, although he is God ‘s mortal enemy, God sure is nice to Satan, I mean he lets him torture anyone who doesn’t believe in God and in the Bible, the two of them have actual conversations, some of which God agrees to let him do things, such as in Job. Why is God so nice to Satan, it makes no sense and is one of the 2 main reasons I believe Christianity is false, with the other one being how many different versions of the Bible there are.

The book of Isaiah (45:7) says: “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.”
The word satan is not a proper name referring to an actual personification of evil, but a word meaning “opponent” or “adversary.”
In Mark 8:33 Jesus actually calls Saint Peter satan.

Huh it’s very interesting that it’s Christians on this forum. Do we not have any Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus etc. ? Surely we’re not all white, God -fearing, law-abiding Americans westerners.

Christians and non Christians aren’t known for getting along, once I read a brochure that asked whether or not you believe in god and one of the choices was something like I respect you but I don’t believe in god, to which it then said something like you’re going to rot in hell. People need to learn that even if you believe in god and think that people should follow the Bible word for word, you should still respect people who god dislikes, such as people who are b******s, gay, incestuous, not baptized, remarried, porn watchers, strippers, women who do men like things, men who do women like things, and of course people who are anything but Christian.

I always dislike brands (Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc…) being dropped onto beliefs (they can just as easily be replaced with political faiths – Communist, Fascist, Liberal, Whet, Nationalist, Conservative, Democrat, etc).
2000 years ago, Marx’s Communism was close to Christ’s Christianity. It was the love for a lousy buck that changed both.
When we look at ideologies, we criticise those who would indoctrinate their children into beliefs, unless they are also our beliefs, our interpretation.
I do not believe in Intelligent Design. I always end up at the question of who designed the designer.
I do not really understand the concept of time, that there was a beginning and will be an end. I do not believe that accepting the concept of a Supreme Being or Beings explains that.
I like the line that “If God didn’t exist, we would have created him (in our image)”. I think we do, with advancing knowledge constantly disproving beliefs held as fact in recent memory, whether it questions the word of the preacher, the politician, or the scientist – while all try to make the facts fit their beliefs (usually by rejecting or refusing to hear those with evidence based alternate views).
I am not sure on reincarnation, I do not discount the possibility that an occasional consciousness continues. If such a thing as the “soul” does exist, it would probably be found within the electrical pulse of life that, as all matter reformulates and is a constant, there is an argument the same applies to energy.
[Snip… I said a whole lot of too clumsy explanation there that even I lost the thread of…]
My beliefs about life – and I refuse to call it a religion though many religions have taught me many worthwhile lessons – even I struggle to understand, but can only hope that in my muddled and failing way, I do the best I can with this span, treating others with the love and respect with which I hope to be treated, even when opinions disagree, while avoiding my more negative drives as much as possible…
John once said we are all Christ and we are all Hitler, and we want the Christ-part of ourselves, our better instincts, to outdo the Hitler-part, our very worst instincts… probably as close to what I think as I can get…
Sorry! Probably among my crappier explanations of what I think, and I doubt you’ve learnt much, but it was the best I could do…

I dislike the “we are created in gods image” and the whole “humans are the only ones with souls.”
It feels really arrogant on our end. If souls existed, I belive that all life would have them cause I feel souls would repersent life.

What are your thoughts on religons other than yours (This question includes athiests and other non belivers)? Do you think their wrong? Misguided? That religons can coexist? I’m quite curious to see your thoughts.

I’m an aethist, but believe religions should be able to coexist.
I don’t think any religions are right or wrong, but you should follow what you believe in.

I believe that all religions have the same heart if you go down tho the nitty-gritty. In the end, nearly every religion worships a deity that has created the universe. Differences, like one god or several gods or no god at all but a great bodiless power, have developed through the different cultures, because every religion is influenced by the people that practice it IMO.
Therefore, I think all religions can coexist because they all mean the same in the end and the differences they have are only due to cultural differences.
Additionally, I think that no one can be misguided that critically questions everything around him and is constantly searching for the truth. If you do so, regardless whether you are an atheist or agnostic or religious, you can’t be wrong, in my opinion.
Not once does the diversity seem forced -- the genius of the record is how the vaudevillian "When I'm 64" seems like a logical extension of "Within You Without You" and how it provides a gateway to the chiming guitars of "Lovely Rita. - Stephen T. Erlewine on Sgt Pepper's

If a religon doesn’t have a deity, then how do they worship a deity that created the universe?

Oops, sorry language problem. I meant ‘something superior that was responsible for the creation of the universe’ with deity, so something with similar properties as a god. It could also be a great source of energy or the Big-Bang.
