Teachers that don’t know how to teach a classroom. I have dealt with this in 2 different classes last year, and I wanted to smash my head on a pile of bricks. I didn’t learn anything in those classes, and I was so angry, and felt like I was in hell. Students screaming, acting like animals, and the teacher didn’t give me a total of about 8 quizzes AND tests by the end of the year.

I had a class once that didn’t teach what it was supposed to.

As a teacher years ago – students screaming in the class. Most teachers get little support from senior staff or parents. It’s basically why I gave up “child minding” and found another career.

Me too. Most of the time I felt like I was a zoo keeper instead of a teacher. The other teachers in the school told me to get out while I was young and could switch careers. They said the students were getting wilder and wilder as the years went by. There were a few good kids that I really feel like I helped (ie taught), but they were so few and far between that it just wasn’t worth it to me anymore…sadly. However, luckily, I still get to teach some as a university librarian. I also get to help students one-on-one so that education degree I worked on for 4 years isn’t totally useless.

Same here re the qualifications. I have done a lot of adult education in my consulting work – most of the participants at least pretend to look interested and crowd control is not the primary focus.

Not a nice story but true.
When about 10 years old I was in a class where our teacher broke down in the class – put his head on the desk and stayed like that. Us lovely kids proceeded to have a riot, jumping on desks, running around the classroom, throwing stuff around, shouting etc whilst he stayed like that. Eventually another teacher came to see what the noise was and screamed at us, never have 20+ kids darted to their seats in history (the classroom was one of two that were separate from the main building so there was very few people near-by going passed). Our teacher was helped out by two of his colleagues and never seen again.
Basically at times kids in school can be utter s***s. And we were a decent class.

When people beg for likes and comments on their social media. I’ve suffered through the trauma of these girls saying “Like my picture of my dog who just died!” (true story). You shouldn’t be begging people for a crap – load of likes and comments.

Its why i’m not on it. I was signed to facebook for about a week and got inundated with messages from folk i’d never heard of before asking me to be their “friend”.
No! Now piss off. was my general thought.

Tracks not skipping when your ipod is in shuffle mod. Something else they need to fix in their next update.
And for some reason my itunes library keeps changing the number of albums in each row; its went from 7 to 6 and now its on 8.

I put something like this peeve in response to one begging attempt and got abused. I reported them and some sensible folks leapt to my defense, which was unexpected and nice.

I reactivated mine a while ago and restricted it to family and friends (my version, not theirs).
It’s been a great way to share news and photos with this geographically scattered group.
HKL has joined in and it’s been a nice way for that group to get to know her a bit.

Not knowing anything about facebook is it still the case (was it actually ever) that if a friend has you in their contacts then you’re info can still be accessed by others even if you’re settings are on private?
I wouldnt trust Facebook with any of my details even if it came with the security of Fort Knox.
Was reading about the new privacy policy at Spotify and it not something i have any interest in signing up to as their not getting my permission so they can get my personal stuff. I’d rather go without. (Now someone will tell me iTunes are the same.)

The privacy settings are still very arcane – I had to get a LOT of assistance from HKL to ensure that my ex didn’t have access to anything I posted or that my friends commented on. I know for a fact that no one can look at any of my posts now if I don’t authorise it – but it was way harder to get to that point than it should have been.
[EDIT] I’m also one of those odd people who doesn’t really worry too much about the privacy of most of my information – I know others do and I appreciate that. What I don’t want people to know I don’t give out anywhere – FB included.

I’m the same that i don’t put out there what i dont want folk to know, i just dont want or trust facebook or any similar sites with any of my information no matter what it is.
Interesting. I looked into this thread and from data I gathered about you on here. I would have to go blindly search for a 6′ tallish man in Scotland. Near Glasgow.
You do a good job with your info.

Other small bits were put out but then removed for that reason; i dont want folk to be able to google the information and find my name, age, address, likes, where I went on my last holiday, the time i last went to the bathroom and how long i spend there, and when i last coughed. Occasionally i do post that i had a cup of tea (Tetley in case they are reading and went to send me a few free crates) or what i had for my dinner tho.
I find it bizarre that some folk post all kinds of information on facebook and yet wail to the moon as soon as they are told that folk know tons about them.
And that isnt a challenge for folk to go and find me.

Ya their are some folks on here who leave lots of info on themselves. I say if you don’t want people to find you, don’t talk about your location. I say if you live in the us and don’t want people to find you, only say what state you live in and don’t upload any pictures of specific buildings. the second one applies for people who wanna stay hidden in other countries.
And also if someone you know has a facebook, they could take a picture of you and post it there. I’ve seen that happen.
