Getting a song not just stuck in your head but riveted on so there is no escape and it never stops, especially when its with a song you like. Happens every time after i listen to ‘Luxury Liner’ (i’m not linking to it). I may have to stop playing it.

@meanmistermustard It’s not “Luxury Liner” you should be worried about, it’s “All About That Bass”. When I hear the chorus of that song, I am automatically inclined to deduct Megan Trainor 15,000 IQ points. It’s about as smart as sticking a magnet onto glass.
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

I can proudly say that I still haven’t listened to the crappy song and also anaconda.
Not even as background music? If so then you are one lucky fella. I, thankfully, have never deliberately went and listened to that song @Hey Jude !, but I’ve heard it as background music in shops and things like that and that’s MORE than enough for me. Heck, when the school’s drama program that I work with was waiting for rehearsing, the kids at the sound board started playing “All About That Bass” through the sound system. I promptly went up to them and handed them my iPod. I told them to play something under “The Beatles”. They didn’t pay attention, unfortunately.

Try making a video to it and listening to it hundreds of times. ;-D
Actually, I was lucky – I listen to the alternative rock station, so I had barely heard the song before I’d chosen it for my final project.
It’s an inspiring song for young women, I grew to appreciate it.

@parlance Stick with the alternative rock station, i implore of you, or it may have adverse effects. If it weren’t for songs like Strawberry Fields Forever , I would have no purpose in life.

I would probably switch it to Sublime about halfway through the first listen

Well, this is getting into “is modern music bad” territory, but there are good pop songs, and that’s one of them. Good musically, very clever (Meghan Trainor studied music, and she not only performed but wrote the song), and has a good message.
I can’t find anything to hate about it. It’s not every day I get to make a bass clef twerk.

Okay, here’s my pet peeve then: someone making a statement, getting annoyed when someone disagrees, and when they can’t think of a sufficient response, attempts to shut down the discussion as “boring” or “off topic.”
Agree to disagree, but it wasn’t off-topic (the topic being pet peeves), and if it bored you, just don’t comment on it.

I dislike it when people judge music before they even hear it. like when people say all modern music is bad with out listening to any modern music. There are other examples with other things.

I had ‘Leaving This Town’ off the Beach Boys ‘ Holland album stuck in my head for ages – it was the one track I thought brought the album down from 5 stars for me to 4 and a half or maybe 4. Oddly, I now kind of like it so its back to 5 now
