I hate it when people don’t follow up on their promises. We’re supposed to film our stupid group project today, and the person in our group who is bringing the camera just texted to say that they don’t know if they can come. This is the same person who was supposed to help me write the script and ended up contributing nothing. We’re supposed to meet in a half hour and he had better be there or I am going to lose it.
Update: Another groupmate texted to say she couldn’t come. When did she text? Five minutes after we were supposed to meet. I was the only one there so I just gave up and went home. People suck sometimes.

I know it’s like when that girl promised to translate that book and we’re like on month 5 of no book, who the hell does that?!?*
*Note Chapter 1 is actually translated it’s on my USB and my USB is back in Ireland. Expect it at the start of February and if I don’t deliver, the mods can ban me for a week.

We’re supposed to film the project tomorrow, since Monday didn’t work out. We talked in class on Wednesday, and everybody said they could come. Next thing I knowthe one bringing the camera cancels.
This article sums up our five group members pretty well:

I’m #5. The canceller is #4.
Edit: #3 has been on the shared google doc for about 45 minutes now and hasn’t made a single edit.

How come 33 1/3 is forty dollars on Amazon? It only has ten songs on it, but it’s more expensive than all the other albums (besides ATMP but that’s a triple album).

Some albums are weirdly expensive, and that’s one of them. I’ve also found Station to Station (David Bowie), which only has six tracks and is about thirty-eight minutes long, is twice as much as other Bowie albums.

I don’t know about Bowie but George’s is so expensive because it’s out of print (or whatever the CD equivalent is). No new CDs are being made (because the demand is low) which pushes the price of the discs up higher. In saying that, you can get it on the UK Amazon for under $10 @50yearslate.

Yeah, I got a vinyl of George’s eponymous album for like twelve bucks because the CD was twice as much. Good condition too.
Tried that with Station to Station but the thing wouldn’t stop skipping, I had to return it…

Other people my age being ignorant.
”Oh, The Beatles? Yeah, I know them, just some 80s band that old people like. Don’t they have a song about diamonds or something?”
No joke, I’ve actually heard that word for word from a guy in my Math class.

50yearslate, BeatlebugReporter: Beethoven figures in one of your songs. What do you think of Beethoven?
Ringo Starr: He’s great. Especially his poetry.

Indeed they do, and a great song it is too!

Being in social situations where everyone is talking to one another and I’m on my own, looking at the clock. Happened to me today. Makes me feel isolated and awkward, but also it makes me happy in a weird way. I like being a loner like that, and having that distance between people, being in my own world. Being social is draining and I need time to recharge. Which I’m doing now, listening to Anthology with the airconditioner on.

Never before has a post ever resonated with me as much as that one did. That is literally my life.
As ASJ’s signature says – Introverts Unite! – Separately, in your own homes.
Related pet peeve: when people expect you to act like them in a social situation – what if I’m not enjoying it??

It dawns on me in these moments that we are not weirdos. We are actually independent free thinkers who don’t follow the herd. We don’t need the approval or the comfort of others. As you grow older, especially, I find it a little easier to shrug people off (and their little jibes) and accept who I know I am. I think of the big picture. We all go home at the end of the day and do our own thing anyway. We all live our own lives, and worries I’ve had in the past never amounted to anything serious, even if they do plague my mind at times. I’m Stepping Out captures this so well.
If it don’t feel right you don’t have to do it
Just leave a message on the phone and tell them to screw it
After all is said and done you can’t go pleasin’ everyone
So screw it
