This is more than a pet peeve but I was told at work that the way to get thru is to say to people what you think they want to hear to keep it all sweet. I’d rather get sacked than bullshit people for whatever reason.
That is terrible advice. It may not be easy to tell the truth sometimes but just telling people what they want to hear is destined to backfire.

Ohh, that reminds me of the one time I was in an airport. I was there with my step father to pick up my great grandmother, and I was about 7 or 8. I got pushed down multiple times by full-grown people trying to rush through the place. I hate it when people think they’re allowed to do things like that just because they’re in a hurry.

Does anybody have any pet peeves they’d like to share here?
I would have to say mine are when people spell ‘definitely’ incorrectly, when stupid sluts act dumb and talk funny because they think it’s cute, and when people tell me that screamo music is better than The Beatles.
I would love to hear from other people

My pet peeve is about people who start threads about what they do like,
Their happyness burns me.

It took me 5 minutes to understand what the joke was. Boy am I slow today.

People at the airport who walk like they don’t have anywhere to be, even though by definition they have somewhere to be.
People on the streets of Manhattan who walk like they don’t have anywhere to be and aimlessly goggle at all the tall buildings. In this city, we walk, and we do it briskly.

Guilty. Whenever I am in NYC, I can easily spot the native New Yorkers – the ones who have never owned a car and walk/bus everywhere. They are the ones scowling, dodging tourists like me as if they were playing in a real life game of Frogger.
If I’ve ever been in your way, I apologize.

Apology graciously accepted.

You’d likely have a problem with me then. I’ve never been to New York, but I imagine I’d just be in the way a lot of times. Especially since I’m so tall and clumsy.
A big pet peeve of mine is wearing shoes in the house. Whenever I’m home, I’m usually wearing just socks on my feet if not totally barefoot. I mean, you have to take off your shoes eventually right?

I’ve got hundred year old hardwood floors. Unfortunately footwear is not optional in my house…

I like to go bare foot all the time so I agree, I don’t like when people have shoes on in my place.

The only time I don’t wear shoes is when I am in bed. I wear sneakers/boots outside and slippers inside.
But I should get back on topic before someone gets angry with me.

It irks me a little that…
I find it odd that…

My father was very adamant that shoes were taken off as soon as you entered the house so no wearing them indoors. It’s the same when I go into other people’s – except work as that would be wrong. It makes me look very polite.

@Necko’s pet peeve at the moment is that he doesn’t have a pet peeve to report.
