I can agree with @HMBeatlesfan. I think that modesty is beginning to go out of style, and it needs to get back in. This may be due to religious beliefs of mine, but I do think that moddesty is more professional.
As for @Starr Shine?’s comments, Dresses can be and are many times very modest, but what HMB was talking about were short dresses that are almost like short skirts. If one of those is worn, one should wear pants in order to cover up and be more modest. One thing I see many girls do is wear actual oversized T-Shirts as dresses, which is kinda ridiculous. Also, that guy’s skirt kilt is long enough to constitute no pants.

I don’t know about that, you’d sure gain a lot of attention that you may or may not want from men and gay females.
I’ve been cat-called in the middle of winter wearing a coat. I don’t think that kind of unwanted attention can be avoided.

^ Yesterday I was cycling to college (me on a bike is the most unattractive way I look at any time of the day), I was wearing a helmet, a muffler covering from my nose down, a big winter coat that doesn’t give any idea of my body shape/type, a dress that ended just above my knee, thick tights and ankle boots yet I still get “wa-hey” yelled at me from a van overtaking me.
…..
…..
…..
Like, eh? Are we just catcalling anything that remotely looks like it has a vagina now are we?
Also it never works, I’ve had requests to give people blowjobs from cars and they normally just get the middle finger and a “f**k off” if I’m in a place with people. It’s always groups of men as well as if they feel they have to be some macho guy. What’s the point? If I see a handsome guy I never go “heyyyyyyyyy my place or yours?” if I see them on the street…that’s just plain weird.
But yeah the whole modesty question eh it depends. In work obviously wear formal clothes, school as well but when you’re on a night-out or something and you want to be an idiot and wear a short, sleeveless dress in the winter without a coat, then go on ahead, it’s your choice.
I think there’s too much of an ‘asking for it’ culture when it comes to women particularly and how they dress, but that’s a topic for another day.

If you come to Scotland and call a kilt a skirt you’ll be rearranging your face in 5 seconds. Don’t insult our kilts.

Out of interest, do you own a kilt, meanmistermustard?
No. The law was abolished last year.

Not sure how you can find that an insult, especially considering the definition of “kilt” contains the word “skirt”

Generally girls/women wear skirts, telling a man he wears a skirt, is inferring that’s feminine. Now quite a few people would take insult to that.
But I will give you $10 for you to go up to a Scotsman in a kilt and tell him “nice skirt”. I won’t cover your hospital fee though.

I don’t see why we need to become more modest.
Like, so what if someone wears short clothing, it is there choice, if they break the law, call the cops but other than that, don’t see why people need to be the fashion police.
And it is silly that female breasts are indecent yet when a male has breasts, it is fine.
Also, I think a man wearing a dress is fine. Men should have the freedom to wear a dress if they feel like it.
If anything, change the insecurity of people who get offended when people call kilts skirts. So what?

Easy answer, Scotts don’t want to be thought of as gay.

What makes me mad is that it’s not okay for women to be shirtless in public. If that were socially acceptable, I would never wear a shirt.
At that rate, we mind as well make any nudity legal. You should move to a place where that’s the case if that’s what you’re into.

Funny, in some areas, dresses are considered the more modest option.
Yes, but in those situations, the modest dress would go down to your ankles, these are the types of dresses my mother would wear all the time.

Not everyone who crossdresses is gay.
Interesting to note that is more acceptable for woman to wear men’s clothing than men to wear women’s clothing.
Where are the manists on that one?

Although not all cross dressers are gay, most are and when I see one, I assume they’re a homosexual. As for women in men’s clothing, it looks kind of nice. Sure it doesn’t emphasize what we want to see as well as women’s clothing specifically made for that, but it still looks fine by me, whereas a man in woman’s clothing just looks unusual, unless if it’s one of those pieces of women’s clothing that looks similar to men’s clothing. We need more unisex clothing.

Militaries piss me off. For me personally, I believe that killing another human being is wrong regardless of the circumstance and we don’t have the right to play god and execute people. The military doesn’t just kill 1 person, they kill big groups of people, sometimes all at once. We should be listening to John Lennon and try to use peace with them and be the better man because all we truly need is love, but for some reason even though we live in a civilized society, the only way to deal with issues is by killing people. I remember when 9/11 happened, although it was sad that people would kill themselves to kill other people, it was even more depressing to hear that the US was going to war. We need to tell our governments to end their hate and instead use peace and love.

Well all clothing is unisex. It is just a matter of perspection
In movies, the main guy goes and kills tons of bad guys, would be nice if they didn’t kill.
