Here’s something that pisses me off and has for quite a while now, the misuse of the word N—r. I’ve noticed this mostly with people who are hip and also rappers but I don’t get it, why the hell do people use a word that is a derogatory term for an African American in their everyday vocabulary like as if it’s a pronoun and the strangest part is that black people are known for using this word, the very same word that if said to them 60 years ago, they would’ve beat the s**t out of them. In rap, I can’t think of a more frequently used word, except maybe Yo (to be fair, I hate rap music, so correct me if I’m wrong) and why is the phrase “my n*****” a common and friendly way to say hello, I mean a girl doesn’t say “my slut” and a homosexual doesn’t say “my faggot”, so why this.
They’re taking back the word. That’s kind of the point. It’s not misuse.

^ I know you can get your ovaries and uterus removed particularly if you had cancer of those areas, and taking testosterone can have negative effects for your ovaries and uterus. It still is very common for female-to-male transgender individuals to keep their own reproductive organs. Furthermore male-to-female rarely get their prostate removed as it is a very complicated procedure that can go wrong very easily.
I’ll write more when I get home but I have to go visit my granddad, I’ll remind myself to update more @AppleScruffJunior
Thank you for @me AG, I didn’t know you couldn’t mention yourself anymore that’s sad.
Well I have pretty much summed up what I want to say there, gender-wise you can identify yourself as male, female or no gender at all but sexually you are either male, female or in very, very rare cases intersex/middlesex.
Even if you have external genitalia of a certain sex, internally you are still what you were born but of course you can still identify as male when you are biologically female or female when you’re biologically male or as a third gender that’s completely fine with me.
I really don’t want to come across as transphobic in this post, I wholeheartedly support the trans community and I help campaign for equal rights for everyone who is LGBTQ+, I’m just saying that on things like medical forms, IDs etc. it should say ‘Sex: What you were born as’, I would be happy to see a ‘gender’ category as well so people can say that they identify as male, female, other and so they could have their correct pronouns used etc. but to abolish the complete idea of ‘sex’ on ID would be foolish and could ultimately lead to terrible consequences I think.

Though on the other end, if someone goes though the transition, wouldn’t that change their biology to the point where they no longer can be treated the same as their birth sex?

No, I wouldn’t agree with that. Of course their biology would be changed (taking male to female here as an example), just taking oestrogen, would lead to a raising in pitch of the voice, developing breasts, widening the hips, decrease in bodily hair growth etc. Internally, it decreases the production of testosterone. Unless you have bottom surgery you still have the external male sex organs, which you can get converted into female sex organs if you so wish. But you can’t change your internal biological structure, you will still have a prostate, seminal vesicles blah blah. These can be removed but no surgeon will perform it unless it needs to be removed due to cancer etc. as the risk of damaging your bladder is too high. If you are transgender male-to-female you will always have your prostate, oestrogen will not affect it to the point that it doesn’t look like a prostate anymore. You will still have to have a prostate exam even though your chances of getting prostate cancer are very low compared to cis-males. If you are male-to-female you will never have a womb, so you are biologically male.
If you are female-to-male and haven’t had a hysterectomy you still need to get pap smears etc. and you will never have a prostate- so biologically you will always be female.

What Necko said, it’s why some LGBT people identify themselves as ‘queer’ even though it used to be a derogatory word. Also girls call themselves “bitches” or “hoes” e.g. me and my hoes.
It’s reclaiming a word that was used against them in the past and making it something they can call themselves- thus taking away the negative connotations.

No, I wouldn’t agree with that. Of course their biology would be changed
And while they do have some traits in common, like organs, they have differences in risks and such like a FtM has reduced risk in breast cancer due to the testosterone and the transiston will remove some of the breast tissue.
They can’t be treated the exact same as their birth sex anymore. MtF will

I never said transgender people shouldn’t be treated exactly like their birth sex in a medical sense, but they should be treated in a way that matches what they were biologically born as, than what they have transitioned into. As previously stated there is no reason for giving a FtM a prostate exam but they should have pap smears if they still have ovaries. Similarly MtF should have prostate exams but they shouldn’t have cervical cancer checks etc. That’s why it’s important that ‘sex’ remains on important documents and not be removed, and should not be changed from ‘sex’ to ‘gender’ or that a transgender person should not be allowed to change their sex from their birth sex to what they identify as now.

Unless you have a short memory.
In AppleScruffJunior’s case she wanted the notification at the top of the page so she’d remember to come back here and elaborate.
It’s like being able to make a note for yourself, you might remember to do the thing, but you also might forget, therefore, you make a note.

Yep that’s why, I have a notoriously bad short-term memory. I can remember stuff for school but everything else goes out of my head.

I’ve always hated seeing these signs posted on the doors of businesses.
Excuse me. Did I ever promise you that I wouldn’t smoke in this business? I’d be fine with it if the door said “no smoking,” but “thank you for not smoking?” I don’t need to be condescended to by a door. Kiss my skinny white ass, you presumptuous portal.

I couldn’t function without being able to leave notes to myself…emails, notes on physical and virtual calendars, post-it notes, putting an object physically in my way so I would trip over it if I forgot to pick it up, putting it on top of my keys or purse so I won’t forget to take the object with me to work, etc.

I too depend on google calendar and keep now. All I need to be totally helpless is to lose my phone. Yet somehow I manage to forget to put something on keep that I actually needed to remember…..and that reminds me of something I need to add right now.

Hop to it, @ewe2.
Pet Peeve: You get a bill and the online payment form asks for the statement number. There is no freakin’ statement number on the bill. Also you see this on the online bill pay page
yet nothing on the bill says if it is a hospital or provider charge. The way doctors and hospitals are so intertwined now, you don’t know who you are paying what for. I hope I selected the right choice.
I better make myself a note to call tomorrow to see if I selected the right one. I wanted to just pay it and be done with it so I wouldn’t have to remember to do anything with it again. *sigh*

Critics piss me off like The Bee Gees trying to ruin Sgt. Pepper . Here’s an example, why the hell are films such as Finding Nemo well critically received films. These films are for people 3 and under, if you’re older than 6 and still watching Disney movies, you should expect to be laughed at, so why would a full grown man give it a positive review, or do they secretly have a 2 year old write a review.
Maybe you should try posting more.
