To Starr Shine?,

1. The whole inbreeding causes deformities thing is a stupid exaggeration, the truth is that it just increases the chance of deformities, you can have a child with your sister and have it turn out fine. Also, would you rather be retarded or to have never existed.

2. In that quote, I was saying why would someone do that, not that it was wrong.

Inbreeding does cause deformities and it is better to adopt a child then knowingly curse an unborn child to a potential difficult life.

If I was a carrier for a severe generic disorder, I would adopt instead of passing on a potentially horrible genetic disorder onto my child.

I’m probably the pet peeve of every Star Wars fan.  Eposode I is my favorite Star Wars movie because.

A:  Year bias!  It came out the year I was born.

B:  It has my favorite Star Wars character… Jar Jar Binks

I mainly just say it’s my favorite because it’s everybody else’s least favorite, and it triggers people when I say that it’s my favorite.

I went and saw ‘Episode 1’ at the cinema and thought Jar Jar Binks was the only good thing about what was a grand bore of a film. I’ve never seen all of any of the others and do not have any desire to do so.

Supposedly all Star Wars fans hate the Ewoks too, i really liked them, especially in the 80’s cartoon.

I would be lynched and then burned alive by many Star Wars fans.

At the beginning of the school year during a getting to know you excersise, I said that my favorite movie was The Phantom Menace, and almost the whole class was at my throat(figuratively).  The whole room filled with outrage and anger.  It was actually kinda funny.

It’s ok, I actually like The Star Wars Holiday Special despite most people hating it (although I think it’s stupid that they had the wookies having a conversation using wookie noises), as I remember watching and enjoying it when it first aired, it’s got a great animated scene, and it fits perfectly between Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back. I personally prefer this special over the prequel trilogy and The Force Awakens and I try to watch it at lease once every Christmastime. As for your year bias, does that mean you also like these things:

NSYNC

Backstreet Boys

Smash Mouth

Eminem

Spongebob

The Matrix (the only thing in this list that I like)

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater

Maybe you should try posting more.

The year bias thing is just a joke reason I give for liking the movie.  I don’t like any of those things, except Spongebob, and The Matrix I’ve never seen, but it’s on my movie watch list.

For me, personally, I couldn’t care less if you didn’t like them or not. It starts to annoy me when people have no knowledge on The Beatles, or have even listened to one of their songs, and then go on to say that their music sucks.

I always go to the John quote which says it perfectly

“It doesn’t matter about people not liking our records, or not liking the way we look, or what we say. You know, they’re entitled to not like us. And we’re entitled not to have anything to do with them if we don’t want to, or not to regard them. We’ve all got our rights, you know, Harold.”

Being a non vegetarian I can agree with this.  If you go to someone’s house, you shouldn’t complain about the food they are serving you, unless you have an allergy or some illness that prevents you from eating the food.

As a picky eater, if you don’t like the food, don’t eat it but don’t make a big deal out of it.

Here’s one that pisses me off, mandatory school. There’s no reason for it, it doesn’t make you smarter, it doesn’t make you behave, and it sure as hell doesn’t make you have fun. For me, while I was in school, I stayed back twice, got arrested multiple times, and dropped out in 1983 by forging my parent’s signature. And it’s not the parent’s fault, as one of my friends tried not taking his kid to school and the police got involved.

There are alternatives to public school like stay at home for example. Could learn about that from @Beatlebug if you are interested.

Yes there are alternatives such as private or home schools, but they still make you learn.

I think school should be compulsory until the age of 15/16 (or whatever age you do your GCSEs/Junior Cert whatever at). It’s best to leave school with some qualification even at a basic level. You can’t legally work in Ireland until you’re 14 anyways so you might as well spend the extra year in school.

What I hate is compulsory subjects after the age of 15/16. In Ireland you have to do English, Irish and Maths, no exception. Bit stupid of a rule and I didn’t mind English or Irish but I did maths at ordinary level because I knew I wouldn’t need it in my total points for college (and I didn’t). But you have kids who really struggle with Irish and are being kicked down by the grade system because they’re poor at Irish, English or Maths

(Don’t even get me started on the Irish curriculum- no wonder so many people hate Irish, the curriculum is like some 1950’s crap that has never been updated).

Name me one thing that a 7 year old can’t do that’s taught in school and important in real life, I sure can’t think of one. Happy 3,000th post on this page.
