I think it’s stupid that tax isn’t included in the price. For example, if something says it costs $5, it actually costs $5.3 (in my case, sales tax differs from state to state). In the meanwhile, it could really fail you, like as if you have $130,000 and try to buy something for $125,000, only to realize you don’t have enough money. I think The Beatles say it best when they talk about the Taxman .

I visited Ireland about a year and a half ago and I loved this thing they did where they built the tax into the sticker prices, so if something said it cost €3 it actually cost just €3

Tax isn’t included since it varies from state to state. If you want the price to be the price, move to New Hampshire.

We are great, aren’t we? 😉
Off topic but what bits of Ireland did you go to? If you were on this forum I would have met up with you if you went to Galway.
Sure around a year before I joined here SS? was like an hour away from me- quite frustrating I say.

Here’s something that pisses me off, waiters and waitresses who expect a tip. Why the hell would I give someone more money than I have to, what’s next, overpaying your bills. Here’s a stupid invention as well, gift cards. Who the hell decided that spending money to limit yourself on what you can buy was a good idea, I’d rather wipe my ass with a $20 bill then get a $20 gift card.

Tipping is a way of saying thank you for a job well done, pleasantly or just being a little more helpful. Additionally a lot of workers who would benefit from tips are on low salaries and generally meet most of their costs thru the tips given by customers.
Gift cards on the other hand are utterly stupid. I’d rather have the money, which I can spend anywhere, than a card that means i must spend the money in certain specific shops.

Tipping is something built into the culture so bosses can pay their works less.

Just like @Starr Shine? said, tipping is just there so that bosses can pay their workers less. Companies should just pay their workers a proper amount so that tips don’t need to exist. However, not giving tips won’t hurt the company, it will hurt the worker, and that’s very counterproductive. I pay tips because I do want the workers to be paid properly.
As far as gift cards go, when I get gift cards to a place, I feel less guilty about going to that place and spending money. I wouldn’t intentionally ask for one, but if I get one I’ll use it. Actually yesterday at my date I used a gift card to buy the slurpees.

I think tipping is stupid unless you got exceptional service. For me, there have been times where I have tipped at a grocery store and later that day went to a fancy restaurant where I paid in exact change. As for gift cards, I don’t what dumbass invented it but they somehow didn’t fail like Witchfinder General.

Here’s one that I think everyone here can agree with, people who hate The Beatles.
For me, personally, I couldn’t care less if you didn’t like them or not. It starts to annoy me when people have no knowledge on The Beatles, or have even listened to one of their songs, and then go on to say that their music sucks.

Here’s something that pisses me off, the Star Wars prequel and even worse, sequel trilogy.
For me, the order is Star Wars, The Star Wars Holiday Special, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi, Caravan Of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, Ewoks: The Battle For Endor, Star Wars: Ewoks, and Star Wars: Droids.
I have personally taken it to myself to watch everything Star Wars when it’s new (until Clone Wars came out in 2008, I chose not to go see it until it got a DVD release) and I remember how much the prequel trilogy pissed me off (although I will say that Episode III isn’t that bad and is hands down the best of the prequels) and when I went to see The Force Awakens, it got me even more worked up. Who’s stupid idea was it to have Han and Leia in love, it’s supposed to be Luke and Leia, as why would Leia want the type of guy you’d expect to find drunk in a strip club when she can get the more nobler righteous man Luke.
Overall, here’s a ranking of the Star Wars releases so far, followed by their rankings:
1. Star Wars (flawless, although try searching for the original version (AKA the 1977 theatrical release/1982 VHS release), not the 1997 special edition)
2. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (flawless again, although you can’t beat the original, go for the original version, not the special edition)
3. Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi (almost flawless, but still a must have, make sure you’re not watching the special edition)
4. Star Wars: Droids (great show, even when you’re in you 20’s)
5. The Star Wars Holiday Special (solid, better than most put it out to be and it’s nostalgic for me, deserves a watch every Now And Then , I’ll be watching it myself this Christmas Eve)
6. Star Wars: Ewoks (has it’s moments, best watched if you’re a little kid, which I was not at the time of the show’s original airing, otherwise I’d rate it higher)
7. Star Wars Episode III (has it’s ups and down, take it or leave it)
8. The 2 Ewok live action films (has their moments, but too childish for me)
9. 2003 Clone Wars (take it or leave it)
10. Star Wars Episode I (disappointment)
11. Star Wars Episode II (disappointment)
12. Star Wars Episode VII (something that is so bad, it would make a good AVGN episode)
13. 2008 Clone Wars (If the guy who says Number 9 had a baby with Jar Jar Binks, here it is)

^ So you support incest ship?
Maybe you can write a fix it fanfiction where luke and leia get married and have 2.5 babies and evil han solo gets kicked to the curb.

Great list HMBeatlesfan, although I actually prefer The Force Awakens over the prequel trilogy (not by much though) and the only thing about the Holiday Special I like is the animated segment, which they should’ve had a standalone release for. As for Starr Shine?, I’m not trying to offend anyone, but consenting incestuous adults are very similar to gay people in the sense that in both situations, no one is hurting someone and I believe that incest should be legal and not fraud upon. If you look at the original trilogy, you will see that Luke and Leia are both adults and if that’s not enough for you, there are romantic scenes involving the 2 of them in the original trilogy and they actually kissed in a deleted scene.

^ Exept for the children if they choose to have babies without adoption or use someone else.
This also doesn’t hurt anyone,
I’m not trying to sound sexist or homophobic here, but why the hell would the man pretend to be Leia while the girl pretends to be like Luke, that’s a stupid idea.
What makes this different?
