My pet peeve of the day is when I fix the formatting on the Bakers Dozen game, and then it gets all messed up within 2 turns. It’s a major OCD thing. (However, this last round my formatting has held up nicely).

Queen’s music being whored out in commercials. I don’t care if their meaningless but catchy pop songs are used but I just saw a Christmas food ad with ‘These Are The Days of Our Lives’- pretty much Freddie’s goodbye song to his fans…and Brian, Rodger and John approved the use of it?!? F**king hell no respect.

OMG REALLY? That song in particular… this makes me freaking mad.
And yeah, you know Brian, Roger and John had to approve it. I’m disappointed in you, lads.

Yep I heard it a few minutes ago, I turned around thinking it was a music channel and saw food being advertised and some kids running doing the stairs as if it was Christmas morning and I just got so angry.
These stupid ads are stupid and degrade Queen’s music but at least they aren’t disrespectful to the core.
To s**t on such a personal song like These Are The Days… is such a disgrace, I don’t know how they were happy signing off on it.
I’ll listen out for it and try and catch what brand it is but god it’s horrible.

Just a creeping peeve that gets me when people born 30+yrs after (even some born before) “the break-up” come up with dark or sinister or totally off the wall theories about lyrics or interviews of The Lads. Most of their music was innocent, innovative fun. They were brilliant at “Hey, let’s try this…” advancing/innovating recording techniques, sounds, instruments, wonderful chord progressions, always stunning and inspiring their contemporaries.
I truly don’t believe they were either “Sending messages” or “Really meant some ugly whatever…” It might be a fun game to play, but some people have really been dark talking about their relationships with each other and their lyrics. Outside of occasional public sniping, their relationships were locked in and none of them actually spoke evil of each other to outsiders. It’s easy to put words or meanings into the mouths of people who are either dead or don’t really give a f*ck about somebody typing BS on the internet. Lighten up!
Imagine Lennon or any of them getting into dark theoretical conspiracy conversations about Frank Sinatra’s relationships with Tommy Dorsey & Billie Holiday in 1943.
Turn off your mind, relax and let the music wash over you. OK, that’s all.

You share a peeve with John Lennon . It drove him nuts, too.

Hahaha! Pretty much. And really, you could apply this to any band.

Most bands haven’t recorded “Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2′, ‘Money’, and ‘Wish You Were Here'” so you can’t.

Well, technically, as mmm said, Pink Floyd are the only ones who’ve recorded those particular three tracks. But I know what you mean.
*knows Hey Jude , Let It Be , and Imagine *
‘Oh yeah, I love the Beatles! Imagine is my favourite song by them!’
It seems especially bad with Pink Floyd, though; their image is so prevalent in popular culture, but when it comes to their actual music, not many of their songs are that radio-friendly (apart from those three).

Pet Peeve of the day: The fact that “Imagine ” is the word that is 99% of the time tied to John Lennon ‘s solo career/John Lennon as a person in general.

Yes. Although my bigger peeve is when it’s associated with the Beatles, more so than any other solo Beatles project. Some even go so far as to lump it with the Beatles’ songs.

I dunno, depends on the station. My classic rock station always plays Run Like Hell, Young Lust and a 6 minute excerpt of Echoes for their Pink Floyd selection.

I had a conversation with someone who said that he was a major Beatles fan and when asked his favorite song he said ‘Imagine ‘. After I politely said that was Lennon solo he struggled to name many after 3 or four from ‘1’.

I’m not talking about the songs themselves, more like someone saying they’re this huge fan and can only name one or two hit songs and nothing more.
