I don’t care what Thanksgiving is about, I just think filling my gob with 5 pieces of pie is the best thing in the world.

Factually, Jesus wasn’t born on Dec. 25. Christmas is a just made-up pagen holiday.

If eating pie is what it’s all about for you, then you should consider Pi Day (March fourteenth) as your new favorite holiday. In my high school math classes, we would eat lots of pie on Pi Day.

I know Jesus wasn’t born on Christmas; that’s just when we celebrate his birth.

One of my pet peeves is people telling me that they’re proud of me. It makes me feel bad because I don’t think there’s anything to be proud of.

Yes but most have a certain thing to celebrate. (St. Patrick’s Day to celebrate St. Patrick, Presidents’ Day to celebrate presidents etc…) Christmas was just conjured up for everyone to have 2 days off and a holiday in the winter.

I am you as you are you as you are you and you are all together.

Christmas was created as a celebration of the “birthday of the Unconquered Sun” by the Romans. It was also a celebration of the winter solstice.

Christmas was not “just conjured up for everyone to have two days off and a holiday in the winter”. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of our savior Jesus Christ.

And according to this webpage, it was also started to allow the Romans to lawfully slaughter an innocent human being (way to live by the words of Jesus, you Roman savages).

“Roman pagans first introduced the holiday of Saturnalia, a week long period of lawlessness celebrated between December 17-25… Each Roman community selected a victim whom they forced to indulge in food and other physical pleasures throughout the week. At the festival’s conclusion, December 25th, Roman authorities believed they were destroying the forces of darkness by brutally murdering this innocent man or woman.”

I’ve never heard that, I guess my whole childhood is a lie. What’s next, you’re going to say that it’s Berenstain instead of Berenstein, That Dr. Seuss is not an actual doctor, That vegetables and homework aren’t dog food, That Paul died in a car crash, That their are bad films in the Star Wars universe that aren’t Christmas specials (Actually, I kinda like the holiday special and prefer it over the prequel trilogy (except Revenge Of The Sith)). It’s time to grow up.

Just remembered something that really annoys me, which is when people dress their babies in Santa costumes for Christmas, or Christmas pictures. The worst, though, is when they dress the baby in a Santa suit to sit on Santa’s lap. I hate that, they’re on his lap, he’s in the picture, why?! paul-mccartney

One of my pet peeves is when my mom puts the leashes on the dogs wrong. The pink leash is for Maddie because she’s white so she looks best with the pink one and the purple one is for Stella because Maddie gets the pink one. Really, Stella would look good with either the pink or purple one because she is brown but that doesn’t work that way for Maddz because she is white, so the pink one is only to be used for Maddz unless I am taking Stella outside separately (in that instance either of the leashed would be acceptable) and only Stella can use the purple leash because Maddie cannot use it. paul-mccartney

Christmas, on the other hand, is about celebrating the birth of our savior and lord, Jesus Christ, who is one of the most positively influential people who has ever lived (and even if you don’t believe he is our savior, you still cannot deny the good he did for this planet).

Ooooh that’s controversial, I know from my POV I don’t think Christianity as a whole (or organised-religion in general really) is any good for the world. Ah but alas this isn’t the forum to discuss it.

Now, I don’t remember LPD saying anything about Christians, just Jesus. He was a cool guy; his followers can get a bit weird. ahdn_paul_01

I don’t mind religion at all, but when people start doing annoying or bad things to other people in the name of religion, then I have a problem with that.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8  Christmas sucks. I’m waiting for Thanksgiving (the best holiday of them all.)

While I don’t think Christmas sucks, I do prefer Thanksgiving. Saying “thanks” for a Christmas present is nice, but saying “thanks” to a person for the positive impact they have on my life is awesome.

We prefer staying home on Thanksgiving and I do most of the cooking. While we lived in Phoenix, far from home, we made a big traditional dinner every year and invited those friends or co-workers who couldn’t make it home for the holiday. Every year was different and now has its own special memory.

I highly doubt Chloe’s posts are of the worst quality posted on here since the forum was created.

The point of Christmas for Christians isn’t celebrating his birthday (no one buys Jesus a card and makes him a cake, ok maybe the doolally hardcore believers who probably also cook him a meal every night and put him to bed before signing him a song) but remembering and celebrating that Christ came to save Man (plural) from sin. Getting caught up in the inaccurate date is totally missing the point.
