Yeah, I guess this has become a pet peeve of mine because it happens too much on my Facebook newsfeed.Yet again I get that “hackers posting malicious things / porn etc. in your comments as you” hoax. I wish people would take ten seconds to Google that s**t. I am constantly the one that does the search, posts the link that shows it’s a hoax (either Snopes or something else) when they could have done that themselves before even bothering to click on that “Share” button or copypasta it. Oh and surprise, seconds after I posted her the link showing it’s a hoax, the post was gone. People, please stop propagating hoaxes like this one and any of them that claim you have to copypasta something to “copyright” your content or that Facebook will be charging you to use it (never has it and never will it darn it!!) etc.

No its still fake. Whether people believe it or not does not make it a fact, it just appears to be a fact.

What is true or a fact etc does not change in its basis just because people do not believe it, it is just accepted to be be what it is not.

I used to be the designated debunker among my FB friends. I stopped bothering. People will hit that share button on any old made-up story, without bothering to do a 2-second search. No matter how often you tell them it’s a hoax, they still share it. I’ve got better things to do anyway. Now that I think of it, I rarely use FB anymore. I mainly check in to see if there are any #OneOnOne updates, but that’s the gist of it.

Offline ^ Did you start using Facebook less when you began hanging out with us, @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<? That is what happened to me. I’m not on FB nearly as much as I used to be. I’ve had people complain that I’m not on FB very much anymore. They miss me. That spurred me to get back into it just a wee bit more, but I am more active here.

Offline Yes and no. I had been weaning myself off FB for quite a while, but I was required to use is because of my position at the Redhead Days Festival. I was the social media coordinator and the crowdfunding coordinator (plus all the other stuff people would come to me for; I was a bit of a central figure, I suppose), so I had no choice but the be on FB all the time. Once I resigned, last October, I nearly instantly became rather dormant on FB. Since I do need my internet fix every day, I’ve been looking for new places to hang out, and this one is so much better than FB. So, it’s a little of both.

Offline I’m fed up with folk expecting me to be on Facebook and think i’m weird and missing out on something magical that will change my life for the better.
I turned the voicemail off on my mobile two nights ago. Feels like there’s a little more freedom in my world. Hated voicemail and being charged to listen to messages.
People who offer to do something for you as a favour, even tho you don’t ask them to, and then they never do. Don’t offer if you have no intention of doing so. And also don’t take contact details, say you’ll contact someone to meet up, and then never do.
