Another pet peeve of mine — when you open a bottle of something (whether edible or medicinal) and under the lid is a sealing cover that when you try to peel it off, doesn’t come off completely but tears, sometimes into several shreds and/or slivers. When I do find a product whose underlid peels off completely and easily in one fell pull, I wonder why it is that other products can’t do the same…?

Even worse–how about those products that use packaging designed like the Gordian knot? While I’m wrestling with some impenetrable “security” closure or weapons-grade blister pack, I have a recurring vision of going to the stockholders’ meeting for the offending company and throwing the package on the lap of the CEO. “Here, big shot, let’s see you open it!”

Beatlebug, Zig, meanmistermustard, Pineapple RecordsI say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Litter.
I see so much of it along the roads. Do people not realize that no matter where their final destination, odds are pretty decent there will be a trash bin nearby? Yesterday I stopped for gas and noticed a paper bag, from a fast food joint, that was full of trash. It was right next to the gas pump. I picked it up and threw it away, using the trash bin…three…steps…away.
Some people can be such butt wipes.

There’s this girl in my dorm who likes to listen to music very loudly, and she also likes to listen to the same song on repeat for hours at a time. I have currently spent the past hour listening to “Umbrella” by Rihanna.

I love that one! Reminds of a neighbor I had a long time ago, who just kept playing “Torn Between Two Lovers” (Mary MacGregor? I couldn’t remember who it was, had to google it) over and over and over. I’ll just say that she obviously had a reason why she got stuck on this particular song…

Anyway, pet peeve: When you’re trying to tune up and your freakin’ bandmates won’t HUSH UP and it’s very hard to tune your guitar when you’ve got a drummer, a violinist, and a harmonica-ist all tootling away at different things…

All this recent changing of usernames. Half the time I don’t who I’m talking to! (And, yeah, I know, pot kettle black, as I changed mine a long while back, but still…)

If it’s any consolation, I don’t plan on changing mine any time soon.

Oops…. I just changed mine. But I kept the avatar and added a note in my signature, if that helps. And yeah, I’ve complained about it too, so I’m a major hypocrite.
