Luckily, our mods rarely delete anything, and on the rare occasions they do it’s usually accidental…

Your post is number 212663 and there are 206824 posts on the site. So around 10000 posts were deleted.
Though most of that was spam and double posts (Along with a certain unpersoned poster deleting their own posts)

You should also remember, @Starr Shine?, that before that person spent hours attempting to delete every one of posts, and turning chunks of threads into nonsense, we were all able to delete our own posts.

I know, I’ve deleted a few of my double posts back then, that was just the biggest example that comes to mind.

Over-zealous forum mods – not here I hasten to add.One example; I bought a computer game but the manual was missing – the store had no more copies of the game and it was out of print so they couldn’t get more – yes, back in the day when we had game manuals and needed them for complex strategy games. So I went onto the game support forums – I posted my receipt to show I had a legitimate copy of the game and asked if anyone could point me towards a copy of the manual. And was promptly banned for “promoting piracy”??
Two example; on a music forum I won’t mention. George M had died according to Ringo’s Twitter feed. People were posting their RIP comments and the threads were being deleted because there was “insufficient evidence that he had died” – apparently Ringo’s feed had been hacked recently and the mods were cautious in case it was a hoax. Then the BBC announced it – but threads continued to be deleted by the mods (apparently that eminent forum has higher standards of integrity than the Beeb). I asked what evidence would be sufficient for the threads to remain – and was warned and threatened with a ban for questioning a moderator’s actions. I don’t need that sort of hassle and closed my account.
Sounds like too much hard work, plus i’d have to have contact with posters away from the forum board.

Yeah, I’m too lazy to be zealous, let alone over zealous.

When someone rings me up and asks, “Who is speaking?”
Is it on a cell phone?

Nope, landline. As soon as I say hello, I’m met with “Who is speaking?”
Maybe that’s because the person calling wants to talk about you to your mommy or daddy so they ask who’s speaking to make sure they don’t accidentally say stuff about you to you
One of my pet peeves is when my mom puts the leashes on the dogs wrong. The pink leash is for Maddie because she’s white so she looks best with the pink one and the purple one is for Stella because Maddie gets the pink one. Really, Stella would look good with either the pink or purple one because she is brown but that doesn’t work that way for Maddz because she is white, so the pink one is only to be used for Maddz unless I am taking Stella outside separately (in that instance either of the leashed would be acceptable) and only Stella can use the purple leash because Maddie cannot use it.

That’s actually true. But basic telephone manners dictate that you at least say “Hello”, “I’m so and so”, “Could I speak to..”
Ugh, it’s so irritating when they do that.

If someone pulls the “Whom am I speaking with” card, I counter it with my own, “well, who are you” card, works every time.
(also, why the name change @LoveUlikeGuitars ?)

Regarding the name change, That’s what John wrote in his love letter to Cynthia. Ain’t he sweet?

That book gives me mixed feelings…I go it’s oh-so-cute when she writes about John singing “Ain’t She Sweet ” to her in the class, and sometimes I feel like throwing it against the wall because she was so spineless at times!
So, I guess it must be a pet peeve
