It’s a decent idea never followed thru as all you end up with is the actual version of ‘Here Comes The Sun ‘ with an intro and outro that never appear again. Reminds me of ‘Yesterday ‘ on ‘Love’ that has the pointless ‘Blackbird ‘ intro.
Edit: Is the above on ‘Love’, I rarely listen to the album or care it exists.

*coughs awkwardly raises hand* There is a few of us, we just aren’t well represented particularly the young ones. It’s not that I’m against alcohol, I just don’t like the taste of it or the massive part it plays in Irish culture and society. That and it does more harm than good to you in the long term (not a stab at anyone here I’m talking more about drinking a couple of naggins of vodka a weekend like some of my classmates do than having a beer/glass of wine everynow and again)
And beer does attract the Irish, just ask any nurse/doctor about the number of people who go in to get their stomachs pumped any given night/who have liver problems.
More than half of all Irish drinkers are classified as heavy drinkers.
Damn alcohol abuse.

This week was RAG week in Galway, it’s meant to be a donating-for-charity week for the university students but now it’s become a booze fest. On Tuesday, students were lining up for 4 hours outside pubs to get in at 9am for a €2 pint….I mean, do you not have anything better to do with your lives? And if you walk along Eyre Square (the main place in Galway city) on a Saturday morning around 7am, there are cans, broken glass and vomit everywhere, it really is charming!
I remember reading that 7% of the people surveyed from the ages of 18-75 on their drinking habits would be identified as ‘alcohol-dependant’…that’s near a tenth of the population who if they went off alcohol would end up getting the DTs, it’s ridiculous!
I don’t understand the people who drink 2 naggins of vodka, a couple of shots and a few pints in the evening, only to wake up feeling like you’ve a jackhammer in your head and you reek of the vomit that you threw up on yourself.
It’s not just Ireland who has this place obviously but it really is ridiculous the acceptance of alcohol in Ireland and things like Arthur’s Day (commerating Arthur Guinness, the man who invented the famous stout) and RAG week.
Speaking of Guinness, it’s embarrasing how the second somebody famous comes to Ireland, we have to bring them to the Guiness Storehouse- Ireland has so much to offer not just the fact that we make good beer and whiskey . It further reinforces the old “Ah Paddy loves the auld drink, doesn’t he?”.
