It’s not uncommon for music-centric forums to have a broad range of member ages.  I’ve been telling anyone who’ll listen (and some who won’t) that music is the bridge across the generation gap.  All of them.

It’s not just youngsters who can talk about how good we had it, what with our Beatles and Led Zeppelin.  We can look back and listen to what our parents (and grandparents) were listening to and, if we like it, we become fans of it.

But Rock, more than any other genre, seems to cross the widest spectrum.  It’s the king of bridges and the throne has four chairs.

I happen to be 1 after 64.  Couldn’t resist the opportunity, so I had to register just to post that gem.  a-hard-days-night-paul-8

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

Now that you’re here, keep on posting. I’m also new here but this is a very friendly forum.

Thanks, Oudis.  I agree completely. That is one of the reasons I became a member instead of just a stalker.  a-hard-days-night-john-3

I’m 38. There’s only one other person in my age bracket according to the poll results (though I bet there are a few more). I was 31, nearly 32, when this site launched in March 2008, back when I had no kids and a lot more time and energy.

RN knows I get it now. And he knows when and where I was when I figured it out.

EDIT: I see that Zig beat me to this post. I had it figured out the night RN first posted it. But, I’ll admit he did give me a clue first. I’m kicking myself fornot getting it right away. Sorry about that, RN.

After I decided to give it 2 seconds of thought it was easy. I wasn’t expecting a quiz. a-hard-days-night-ringo-12

Off Topic: Ron Nasty, your avatar makes everything you post seem snarky – is “snarly” a word? Makes me laugh (in a good way!) every time I see it. Even when you post something very nice (as you often do) it makes me think “what the f_ _ _ did he mean by that?”. It’s like, “have a nice day, a*****e!”. I love it. Please don’t change that avatar. It is one of my favorites.

BOT: As others have said upthread, I love the age diversity here. From their earliest days of widespread popularity, the Fabs have appealed to sons and daughters as well as mothers and fathers. It’s so cool to know that the best things never go out of style.

Thanks to all of you for making this such a cool place to hang out.

Ringo was born in 1940 on July (7) 7th, John in 1940 on October (10) 9th….and so on.

Our RN was born in 1967 on May (5) 8th. Thus, 6758. So, thus, you can figure out his age, to the day.
