Help needed with opening new US CDs !!
I just received a few new CDs via ebay (“Goodnight Vienna” and “Living in the Material World”). Even thought they are shrink-wrapped, which should be security enough, they also have those annoying white labels at the top with the name of the CD and lots of sticky tape. When you pull in the direction of the arrow you are invariably left with lots of separate bits of tape, they seem designed to shred rather than peel off. Even if you manage to remove the recalcitrant bits you seem to be left with bits of glue at the top of the case which makes a mess of any of the card covers that come with the 2009 remasters etc.
Anyone of my USA mates have any tips for removing the bloody annoying things?

Leave the label on and undo the bottom hinge on the front of the case. Then flip the front of the case upwards until the label is flat. Remove each half of the case from the label inside out. Then put the two pieces back together. Tell me if that makes any sense.
Don't you know? It's gonna be alright. (Shoo-bee-doo-wop)

It does indeed – great tip – many thanks (that is some awesome lateral thinking).
