Nasty 1 all the way! It fits you! What he said!
See, now, I don’t think so. But that’s because I best associate him with his original, which was number 3. Which is why I wondered about whether more recent arrivals who never saw the earlier ones etc. Plus he kept that first one twice as long as the second one, so I think he had a chance to grow into it.
But I really just think it’s a better photograph, too! The way those fingers give it a sense of dimensional depth, while partially obscuring his true expression, thus providing a bit of emotional depth as well. Great photo!
I really am putting way too much thought into this, though! (you know you’re a hardcore ‘pudlian etc)

I think I used 1 and 3 for around the same amount of time, @Von Bontee. Though, at a guess, have used 1 for a couple of months more than 3.

Having committed my choice to you in person, I went for number 3. However I’m not so sure now. Such a fiendish poll.

Only #1 is as nasty a photo as Mr. Ron Nasty’s avatar deserves to be. Only #1 reflects his nasty personality. Long live Ron Nasty!

Well, it looks like Nasty One… won. The poll, anyway. *quietly triumphs*
I always thought that one channelled his nastiness the best. Or what Oudis said above.

Firstly, thanks to everyone who took the time to vote.
I expected maybe a dozen votes tops, so imagine my surprise and delight at over double that. Nasty appreciates the effort!
Thanks to @meanmistermustard for the pinning and unpinning. I’m glad @Joe and the mods allowed me to get away with the thread!
Thanks to @Beatlebug for the last minute reminder, which I’m not sure I would have thought of even had I not been experiencing interweb problems at the time!
So, what is my decision…
I always thought it would be a tussle between 1 & 3, which is how it turned out (poor old 4!).
I have an affection for both.
I am going to go with the majority, mainly. Number 1 is going to be my avatar. However, I am going to reserve the right to use Number 3 for up to (but not exceeding) 4 months in any calendar year.
My favourite irony of this poll? Well, that would be @Zig!
I had the idea for this poll a long while back. I had it when I first changed from 3 to 1. It was only meant to be for two weeks, then 2, 4 and 5 for two weeks each, followed by the poll.
In that two weeks came a post from Zig though, saying how much he loved the new avatar (1), and that I shouldn’t change it again. This was quickly followed by a nod of agreement by someone else. So I dumped the poll idea, thinking I’d found the perfect Nasty. The idea only came back after changing my avatar for the April Fool and going all Von.
I thought it was the perfect time, as it was the first variation on my avatar since adopting 1. And so I went for it…
And what did Zig vote for, eloquently and very funnily, number 1 of course, the avatar he’d told me not to change again… number 3? He voted for 3? The funkin’ barsteward who told me he loved 1, and that I shouldn’t change again, voted for feckin’ 3!
Well!!!! I arsk you!!!!
Thanks all!

I love that you prepared this elaborate poll, only to warn us (in the very first post!) that you may not even go with the majority choice! Which is partly why I felt no qualms about voting twice.
Glad that I’ll still get to see my choice for up to (but not exceeding) 4 months in any calendar etc.
