The Zombies, I never hear anything about them from anyone yet they have some of the best songs if you go and explore them a little bit. I also feel that Modest Mouse is very underrated. They're music is some of my favorite and nobody pays hardly any attention to them. Except for their song Float On that gets some attention.

I agree with Simon and Garfunkel being underrated. I can't think of a bad Simon and Garfunkel song. I put Paul Simon in the same league as John and Paul…. *hides*
They are definitely a fantastic duo, some of their songs are absolutely poetic. However, I'm going to agree with PennyLane in saying they aren't underrated- I've heard far too many great things about them from others for me to think of them as underrated.

In addition to the Canadian artists already said, Great Big Sea, Moxy Fruvous, Anne Murray, Nickelback (unfortunately), Avril Lavigne; but I wouldn't consider this a favourites list. Paulrus is right, I cannot think of any Australian artists off the top of my head.
Bot: Simon/Garfunkle, The Moody Blues, and many kinds of orchestral/instrumental music.

I thought of another!! How bout Muse?? I mean, you never hear of them anymore, but some of their songs are decent!! I also agree with whoever said that Modest Mouse is underrated, in fact, I forget about them because no one seems to appreciate their music. 3 Doors Down might be considered a bit underrated too. Oh, and this singer/songwriter guy I found through that Subaru “first love” commercial (if anyone happened to see it or know what I'm talking about). His name is Sean Hayes and he sounds influenced by Jack Johnson. He's on wikipedia and has a website if anyone was curious. Just type in sean hayes music in Google.

The Bamboos and the Cat Empire are both Australian and are both pretty sweet.
I’ve been listening to this cd called Steel Drums of Trinidad by Jamaican Steel Band pretty much all day and I would say that it’s underrated music in the sense that I can’t see anyone not liking it. It’s the best feel good music I’ve ever heard. Check this song out. Ja man!

Isn’t Nick Cave Aussie??
I’m not sure about his music (I haven’t heard it) but he’s a great screenwriter. If you have the chance to see The Proposition with Guy Pearce, Ray Livingstone and Emily Watson, go for it. A very enjoyable movie if you like westerns.

Bop. Bop, cat bop. Go, Johnny, Go.
Beware of Darkness…
A lot of the acts mentioned don’t really seem to be that underrated. There’s a lot of respect for Muse, Nick Cave, Nick Drake etc. My vote goes to Super Furry Animals.

Can anyone name 5 Welsh bands/artists?
Super Furry Animals, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics……………Tom Jones…………….. I'm all out.
You all will have read that Dave Dee is no longer with us. But Mickey and Titch and I would like to carry on the good work that's always gone down in number two.

Do you remember Walter smoking cigarettes behind your garden gate? Wasn't Village Green the official first 'concept' album or am I mistaken about that?
You are. It was second. Apparently some band released an album in disguise as a fictional band the year before.
Ah yes, the Monkees, of course.
In fairness I think Village Green began recording first.
