… I’m flattered.
And to , I think the Rolling Stones are mildly overrated by people my age. I mean, they’re pretty great, but not as great as I’ve heard they are. But maybe thats because I’ve only heard a few of their songs…
Reporter: Beethoven figures in one of your songs. What do you think of Beethoven?
Ringo Starr: He’s great. Especially his poetry.

I’ve never heard anyone my age form an opinion about the Rolling Stones, but I agree with you. I’ve heard I Wanna Be Your Man and We Love You. We Love You just doesn’t sound great to me, and their version of I Wanna Be Your Man is just kind of awful.
Love one another.

Overrated? No one I know *excluding brainwashed friends* have any idea who they are, besides the t-shirts, at least to my knowledge. AND they are really really really great. If you’ve only heard their older stuff, go listen to Let it Bleed or Flowers or Some Girls. It’s really rockin’ stuff. But i’m biased… they are my second favourite band!

Let it Bleed is constantly in the recommended section on my Apple Music account on my phone. Thanks, btw. And they’re your second favorite? Then they must be good. (My second favorite is either the Moody Blues or Black Sabbath).

Ha! My dad’s constantly telling me “So, you know how there’s other music besides The Beatles, right?” And I’m just like, “Yes but few of which actually interest me.”

My dad is eagerly awaiting the day that I’ll be willing to listen to other music besides the Beatles so he can show me all his other favorites. I have to keep telling him he’s going to have to wait for a long (long, long) time.

Plastic Ono Band…
Wings…
The All-Starr Band…
Traveling Wilburys…
Not sure why I would suggest the Stones versions of I Wanna Be Your Man or We Love You were wrong in any way…

Ahhhh of course! Silly me. I guess I do listen to bands besides the Beatles then… does it count as non-Beatles if the bands have Beatles in them?

Reminds me of Beatlebug a few years ago. It was fun watching her fall into the strong grasp of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Bowie and never escape.

I should mention it was you who partially pushed me into the strong grasp of The Beach Boys nearly two years ago now. And I’m not planning on leaving that anytime soon!

That is the first band I would recommend to any Beatles fan. If you ever plan to branch out @50yearslate they are absolutely stunning and share a lot of similarities with The Beatles, however there are many things they do thanks to Brian Wilson that I would dare to say challenges the notion that the Beatles are the superior 60s group.
